MR AMG just got his GTR PRO

I meant to post this video from Mr. AMG. As with his other videos including a good one on the AMG SUV Coupes, this makes a compelling case for the PRO. Prior to our move from SoCal to Northern VA, I wanted to get a GTR or GTR PRO to share DD responsibilities with the we'll-probably-never-sell-it 991.2 GT3. Now I have to think about driving in occasional cold, ice and snow, so the PRO option is out for now. :-(

Given how I might never track either car (in CA I had Exotics Racing and the Porsche Experience Center nearby for track time with their cars), I thought the PRO would be a great car to have. The one that I saw at the LA auto show (spec'd like your incoming) looked great. I was on the list to get one of the two or three destined for Fletcher Jones M-B but said I'm out when I learned that they had turned down someone who offered to pay $100K over MSRP! The black series is out of my league and I wouldn't have the patience to wait for the 2021 or 2022 rumored updates. Hope you find a good local buyer who sets Summit Point as a saved location in the nav system.

Curious as to why it is being shipped from France. They are assembled in Sindelfingen (at least last fall when I was in Sindelfingen they were) and shipped out from Bremerhaven Germany. Is there a new process to shipping the GTRs?

They go to different ports when they leave the factory.. Germany is land locked.

Most leave Belgium and for the northeast they come to us in Baltimore.

They do however come in a covered carrier to us unlike on a regular carrier... So even though it's released to carrier, I may not get it until the end of this week

Not that it is a big deal but they may leave Zeebrugge Belgium before the US (as a stopover) but to my knowledge about 100% of MB cars destined for Baltimore made in Sindelfingen are loaded in Bremerhaven Germany. Atleast that is what my experience has been buying/ordering MB cars since 1997. Heck I even remember my ‘87 300E being loaded in Bremerhaven.
