OE Ceramic Brakes Costs?
I am looking to pick up a lightly used GT-S with ceramics, I know the rotors need to be tested by the dealer to determine the life remaining. Does anyone know off hand the price of the rotors and pads for the factory carbon ceramics if they need to be replaced? Do we have a sense yet how many miles of street people are seeing out of them? I know on the GT3 I was getting about 4500 miles of track driving (most people claim 100k street) out of them. This GT will mainly be a street vehicle. On the GT3 it turned out the ceramics ended up being cheaper for track ran iron (based on number of miles I could put on them).

I’m in your area and just picked up a GTS with ceramic brakes. I believe the cost is about 8 to 9 k replacement costs. That’s from the dealer that I bought it from. I choose the car due to everyone saying that the stock steel rotors aren’t the best for the track, but people tend to use them more for the cheaper replacement costs. If you have the money though, then the ceramics are the way to go.

I would call multiple sources for pricing on the CCM rotors as they are pricey.
100% street, the CCMs will last probably longer than you’d ever consider keeping the car as long as the rotors aren’t damaged somehow; in other words, you won't ‘wear’ them out.
Mild road course usage of around 3-4 times/year as long as you never let the pads get low, I’m estimating that the CCMs will hold up extremely well.

I am getting mixed answers on the costs, one dealer told me $10k per rotor, which makes no sense to me as the option package for all 4 corners is only $8900.
Trying to get a parts price quote out of the dealership for this is monumentally annoying.

You could very likely buy replacement steel rotors when the time comes to replace the ceramics. I got 30000 miles on my gtc with the ceramics and see no wear whatsoever on the rotors or pads.

Have not used them yet. Looks like ~$1500 each, so $6000 for the whole car. Looking at their process, this seems to be much stronger than OEM, including an option for track use.

As Bish stated, for street use they will likely outlast the car...
