I Joined The Club..... GTC Roadster Inside.

Hi All. I'm very happy to report that I just finalized a deal for a GTC roadster. This is the first "used" car I've purchased since college. It's practically new with only 1,000 miles on the odometer, certified and perfect inside and out. The significant savings over the 2020s I looked at is what made the decision easy.

Some of the options included are: Designo Selenite Grey Magno, carbon fiber door sill, engine cover and interior trim packages. It also has the red pepper/black Nappa leather interior. It's a stunning car in person and I look forward to getting it home. A special thanks to Vic and Wolf for their help and putting up with my countless pms. A few pics below:

Sweet car!

This looks like the car I saw at my local dealer, Bobby Rahal Mercedes in Wexford, PA. Background looks like the inside of the dealership as well. Did you buy it there? You live in Pittsburgh? Absolute best MB dealer you will find.

Bingo!!

I’m about two hours west of them but I was introduced to their dealership by my friend and long time Mercedes employee. The Rahal group appears to be very honest and upfront individuals. Weather permitting, I’ll pick up the car this weekend.

Absolutely best dealership around. I have been buying MBs from the Wexford location since 1997 when Rahal opened that dealership. My office is in an office building directly behind the dealership. I watched the dealership being built in the mid ‘90s and have been buying cars from them ever since. Over the years I have purchased MBs from other dealers from east coast to west coast and have never found a dealer more honest than this dealership. Most recent car I bought through the dealership was my European Delivery ‘19 S63 AMG. You should be in great hands—very very professional dealership.

Saw the car in the flesh. Absolutely Sweet Car! Congrats.

Lol I guess I was right haha, glad I wasn't the only one who noticed. Seems like a decent amount of people on this forum are from the burgh.

Thought you were already enjoying your new toy! Waiting for the right weather will be the most annoying part...
Since you have Magno paint, don't recall if you will PPF but for washing and managing the matte paint I use Dr.Beasley's matte products. Have been great for our E63s.

Damn, I really like that red top. Really emphasizes the low roofline

Full body PPF is a must for Magno. It's not because the paint is more delicate, a common misconception; but because it's more costly to repaint should you get a scratch.

Regardless if I get it home this weekend it will likely spend the next two months in the garage. We have an ugly season around my house called winter.
I will be using Dr. Beasly's Matte products. I already have the wash in my Amazon cart. I saw some of your old posts that recommended their products. Thanks!
I'm generally a black and grey car guy but I agree that the red highlights (and roof) with the matte grey really works.

I will most likely at least complete the front. This will be only a "weekend ride" when the weather is perfect and it will not see the track. BTW, does anyone know the approximate coast for a Matte respray of the hood? At $9,000 for a full body PPF is a repaint less expensive?

$9k for a roadster PPF can't be right. Thinking $5k... Front-end re-paint would be less although you have to blend across panels; can't just paint the hood...

So we had a little break in the weather today so I decided to make the drive and exchange my C63s coupe for the GTC. Well I have to give the GTC an enthusiastic thumbs up on the 100+ mile ride home. This car is really buttoned down and planted. I drove most of the trip in Sport with the suspension in the softest setting. I was surprised at how well damped the car felt, it soaked up all road imperfections with ease. I also have to give Mercedes props for the design of the soft top because it felt like I was driving a coupe. Absolutely no wind noise. I even drove the car through a touch-less car wash (Oh no! ) at the end of the trip and the soft top seal was impenetrable. I've now put it to rest until the warm weather arrives.

Congrats! The GT C is the best of the range, if you’re not tracking often. And I vastly prefer the pre-facelift.

Nice combo. Congrats again!
You'll find that the car is even better top down with very little wind buffeting and the Air scarfs make it an easy 3 season driver.
Hopefully the original owner left the factory trickle charger in the trunk for you to use during storage. These cars can be charged via the trunk 12V outlet.

Are you planning to tune the car?

I'm fine with both but I do appreciate the analog theme of the 18/19. It really works with the classic design of the GTC roadster.

Yeah, looking forward to my first top down drive.........was not willing to trust the air scarfs effectiveness in today's 30 degree temps.

I checked on the trickle charger and he was not that considerate. Just another item to add to my Amazon cart. Yes, I will tune this car but I need to do a little more research first.

Thanks all (except Vic) for the warm welcome to this forum.

Vics there. He’s just waiting for the right moment....he understands timing lol.

Dig that color combo. I too suffer from straight black interiors and wished I had ordered the red inserts. Looks great. Enjoy
