Rear Rotors rust

I'm having a field day at the moment with small niggling problems.
One I noticed a while ago but has become much worse is that my rear brake rotors have got really rusty both sides, no other rust, this is on an 18 GT Roadster with 9000 mls, anyone else seen this?
Car is going in for service beginning of March and to have the AC looked at, I think I will ask for the rotors to be cleaned up and painted, do you think I could get this under warranty?
Picture attached.

I have the same issue with my C63s, dealer said that this, unfortunately, is not covered under warranty

Pads clear up very quickly the painted surface with very light braking .

3rd set of discs I've done it to ( multiple cars ) , oldest discs are 6 years old - no rust !

I like that idea. You could, however just aim and paint the neck and not get the break disc surface...

Don't be scared .

This way any thin unswept disc outer and inner stay rust free too .

Here's the old ones .

Took the car in today for a service and had them look at the rear brake rust, the service writer said it probably wont be fixed by MB but showed me 3 other GT cars with the rust, I looked at other models from A class to SL class and none of them have the rust. Must be a problem with the paint on the GT rotors, what other MB cars have the same rear rotors?

They obviously know it’s a common issue with these rotors, which to me seems like a defect in material, which warranty should rightly cover on a car with less than 10,000 miles. I have a 2017 GT with 16,000 miles that has the same problem, the whole area is embarrassing on a car of this caliber.

it’s not a defect! They are steel rotors. Drive on wet roads? It gonna happen.

wash the car but don’t dry it? It’s gonna happen.

news flash!!! If you drive it, the brakes will knock the rust right off.

this is not a MB issue. It’s a steel rotor issue. Upgrade to ceramic brakes and it don’t happen .

BTW, if any you guys try woodworking, don’t cut nonkiln dried wood on your equipment. The moisture from the wood in contact with the iron surfaces will cause oxidation and rust on your shiny new tablesaw. Pushing more wood across the table wipes the rust right off.

It’s not the rotor itself that’s the issue, it’s the rotor cap in the center, pretty sure the brakes don’t hit that part. My Porsche’s don’t have this issue with their steel rotors.
