5 should be the 3rd cylinder on the right when facing the engine, but that just "v8" general, you probably want to see the shop manual to confirm

Realian thank you for answering the question .. And thats ok i can see it now ,,after looking at the top in small letters Why not fill in the members profile so everyone can see the car in question . ,,At one time i would not stop to help if information of the car in question was not in the post . This was the first thing i found out about my car ,, was the firing orders .. And i purchased a manual for every car i had to understand how to look after them .

Nothing to do with what part of the forum i am on ..If you go into NEW POSTS you see all topics .Not just one . I still say if poster had filled in his profile every one would have known what he was talking about And that way you dont have to do another search to find out . ,,,,,Look at my profile can you see what car i have ?.

GTs means nothing to me, and as you know there is more than one engine fitted to those cars .Its information thats not in the posting .Give as much info to help members sort it out .You know because you have one of these cars . So in future if i see nothing to say what the car is then i will just pass on by ok ?

Yes may be, but i have been on forums for a long time,, may be to long . And first thing I look for is guys that need help.. And the only way i can help them is if they post up everything about his or her car .See just looking at your profile i can see you have an AMG s so now we know that ,, what is the year of your car,, i can see no information unless you state it in your post .... Anyway while i am talking to you and making no head way its best to just forget it . Gringo .

Nobody's answered this poor person's question yet....I however find myself confused as to how this person has decided and diagnosed that coil pack #5 needs to be replaced, yet said person doesn't even posses the knowledge where cylinder 5 is. Quite the conundrum eh?

Solarbeam Yellow 2016 AMG GTS
Standing in front of the car looking into the engine bay. Closest cylinder on the right (passenger side in USA) is #1. It counts towards the cabin to #4. #5 is the closest cylinder on the left (driver side in US) counting to #8 towards the cabin.
