True, perhaps the GT2 RS Clubsport could be close... Still, impressive time.

I don’t get it and the two tone doesn’t help at all. Based on the numbers a tuned pro would be a better deal and certainly looks way better too

It looks good, but I think it's "just okay" compared to previous Black Series. I think the problem/challenge with the GT platform is that they've already "pushed" the styling through different variants, so it just doesn't stand out from the pack as much as the other Black Series did. Its' a huge jump from the GT/GTS, but from the GTR or definitely the Pro; not enough to really move the needle from an appearance standpoint. Heck, if the hood wasn't two-tone, the difference would be even less noticeable.

I'm sure the performance is fantastic & there are most certainly some other tricks up their sleeve, but aside from the wing, it's exterior presence just doesn't scream "Black Series". Granted, I'm not a buyer at the expected price anyway; so I'm not the target market.

I agree except it looks like the designer took grill sizing design queues from the recent BMW "Bigger is better"....its not. Please stop this new trend.

No kidding! Not a fan of the bigger BS grill but somehow got used to it from the GT3 cars as these cars have more extreme proportions all the way around. BMW is going overboard (if anyone has seen the new 4 series).
On the rear end it looks like the new BS has actual quad pipes (not tips); something I have to admit I like on our BMW M8c.

BS vs BS, the GT version looks Ebay riced out compared to the SLS for me. GT vs SLS, I prefer the GT lineup.

This is an interesting alternative to those who dont want to wait for the 992 GT2RS / want to have the track bits of the RS series with the daily comfort of a GT car that the GTR provides.
Great addition by MB as there was a bit of a hole for a high performance/track variant of the GTR and likely holds value much better than the typical GTR builds. Wonderful cars in any case and we are all blessed to be able to debate between which ones we would rather own!

Not sure how the car will be an alternative to a wait for the the gt2rs, when all of the allocations are likely gone. Also not sure why you'd pay the extra for the AMG when the times I've seen posted so far are slower than the current GT3 RS, let alone the GT2 RS.

wait....what times? They have been flirting with "0-60 in under 3 seconds" and "top speed greater than 200mph" or improved Ring times from the GTR but haven't seen the stats. Can you please post? Even these early release promotional items dont have specs or track times.

Mercedes seems to keep flipping the grille upside down on all of their models. Don't really see the appeal as it makes it look worse and as many mentioned already, that fish.

The throttle response of that car will be unreal......
I think you mean electric turbochargers. Superchargers are not driven by the exhaust gas, so there is no lag.
Can you post your source? There is no real lag with the M177 anyway, so I don’t think the weight of the electric motors would be worthwhile... but maybe it would make a tiny difference and further differentiate the BS from the GTR Pro, which I think will be a real challenge for AMG. Previous BS models did not have a R or R Pro to contend with...

Doesn't make sense as the BS will have a flat plane crank which is a different motor than the Pro.
Mullat, what are you talking about? What are your sources? I think all your info is basically wrong.

What does “buy the Nurburgring” mean?! The ‘Ring is a track. You can’t buy it.

BS cars are shipping at the end of 2020.

I know, corrected it in the next post, meant turbos but my brain freeze typed superchargers.
I have a large family in Germany and one of my relatives works at the R&D at MB.
That's what he told me.
Regardless, we will know soon the actual development.
