Can I go 325/25/20 in the rear??? Would you?

Even though I don’t really need to match overall diameter front to back because it’s not AWD, the 325/25/20 Michelin PS4 is virtually identical diametrically speaking to the 265/35/19 front tire... what do you all think? And yes, it’s a GTC and the rear wheel is 12” wide... Would you do this?

What’s the point in going to rubber band 25 AR ? Are you trying to obtain skid pad results ?

You will notice a lot more of the extra rubber on the 315/30 on the street IMO.

Ideally I would prefer 325/30/20 but

Not available in PS4... 315 doesn’t seem like enough of an upgrade over 305. I’m looking mainly for track use...

I'd rather have the extra sidewall.

Wider rear tires will help if the car currently oversteers. Not sure how the GTC feels at the track.

It is almost 1/2” shorter

so sidewall height is a consideration. In a perfect world I would just go with Cup 2’s but alas it’s not to be...

Oh you’ll “feel” the 325/25 on the road for sure. Go for it.

I doubt you'll be able to tell a difference in track performance whether it's 305, 315, or 325 street tire unless you are some pro driver. A stickier compound will make a way bigger difference.

If you are going to do more than the occasional fun outing, get a R compound and/or a second set of wheels.

lol I’m not a fan of the 25, just the 325... my instinct is to pass but I was curious what y’all out there in the wild inter web had to add... that said I do have wheel and tire warranty but no dental coverage😂

I’m assuming you do not have P4S now. Kumizi is correct, The stickier compounds are the difference. Pirelli and Super sports a lot less sticky.

I swapped out the super sports 2 months ago and regret not going for the wider tire. Currently I’m running PS4 all around. Ideally I would just install a set off a GTR but running SC2 up here in Toronto all season is a bit of a hassle even if they are the best choice for the track... basically I just feel like I need a bit more grip behind me.. hopefully that will change once the weather warms up and I can actually get some heat into the tires...

In that case, no I wouldn't trash your current almost brand new PS4s hoping for a performance increase.

Is this your daily driver?

I run R comps on my weekend cars. Just drive carefully if it's under 50 degree Fahrenheit or raining. (I realize that's a lot easier to do in Texas than Toronto. I dont know if you people up north just store your cars for the entire winter or what).

I daily my car

I run snows in the winter. The problem with the SC2’s is early spring and late fall when the pavement is cool/cold...

I went from 305/30/20s to 335/30/20s PSS on my GTC. They look awesome, especially since the 12" rims were under-tired with the 305s. They definitely reduce oversteer, especially if I am a little quick on the throttle out of a turn on track. I will switch to PS4S 325/30/20 when these are done.

If you can get 325/30/20 PS4

Let me know. I tracked my super sports last year and they were horrible...

You want more sidewall for a track tire. The diameter is off with that sizing too..quite a bit. You would do better with 325/30-20 - Sport Cups come in that flavor too (great track tire).

I did the PS4 in the 325/20 and 275/35. It turned out pretty good.
When the tires arrived the difference in side wall was pretty noticeable and I thought it was going to look silly. Once they were mounted you could hardly tell and had to really look to notice.
Casual observer would be none the wiser.
These were strictly for DD duty, and I had separate setup for track.
Even with the reduced side wall the PS4s were a dream on the road vs SC2s. Loss of traction vs the SC2s was noticeable.
Saying that, if I was to do it all again I would probably run the A/S 3+

I'm going to get 265/30/20 and 325/25/21 PS4S installed next week (with Renntech tune) for spirited street driving and will report back

That’s exactly what I have, and I’m surprised to say they actually hook very well.

Drives Slowly
After playing around with several tire size options, I think the best combo for F/R on stock wheels for the GTC may be 275/35/19 front and 315/30/20 rear. You get 10mm of additional width and only increase tire height by about 1/4" for both front and rear. Also, you can get PS4s in these sizes. That's my plan anyways.
