I know, that's my point... But I'm not going to sit here and tell you exactly what will or will not fly, as I'm not the person who'd be doing the inspection prior to green lighting powertrain repairs, and each individual person looking to purchase one of these warranties needs to decide for themselves what they think the threshold is that they could get away with.

Yeah, I'm not too worried about it. I've never had an extended warranty before. Would be nice to get a new $17,000 transmission if it ever goes.

Just found out Dodson makes an upgraded clutch pack for our DCT. Looking into how much that costs.

I'm interested to know your findings on this.

Is there a reason you didn't get a factory extended warranty? Does Fidelity offer better protection than a factory warranty?

It's significantly cheaper than the factory extended, you get the added benefit of being of to use Indy shops, and certain mods won't disqualify you from big ticket items like they would with MB.

I had Fidelity on my E63 and it isn't as good as factory but it is considerably cheaper. You can end up with a longer warranty with them than you can from Mercedes too. They don't cover everything and the dealer needs to wait for approval so your car will be at the dealer a little longer

I had the Platinum on my 2010 E63 and I am going off memory here but I had a fuel problem. They had to take a lot apart to get to the fuel injectors and they found a bad electrical line to the injectors or fuel rail. I remember it was damp with fuel leakage. They were only allowed to replace the parts that failed even though it looked like the opposite side was getting ready to fail too. They told me that if it was Mercedes extended warranty they would have replaced other components but Fidelity would only approve failed hardware. Sorry I've thrown away all my documents so this is just what I remember.

I am going to dealer to get a quote on ELW and will report back. Was told by my dealer that the rate are state mandated to avoid shopping different dealers but I somehow remember that ELW can be cross shopped around from dealers from different state. Any truths in either statement and can someone refer me to a dealer that will give me the best deal on an ELW?

I found this thread that refers to being able to shop around ELW costs. Will reach out to her but feedback is welcome anyway

Have you tried CarShield? I recently purchased their Diamond coverage for my CLS. $100 deductible and $109/month cost. Extremely comprehensive coverage!

Yes, I tried CarShield but was told they don't offer coverage in CA. Bummer because they seem to be pretty good.

2015 MB S550 & 2020 MB GLS 450
I stumbled on this thread from another MB forum. I follow the W222 forum and maybe I can provide info re Fidelity. I bought a 15 S550 in a private transaction April 2019, and then bought an 8yr/80k mi Fidelity Platinum Warranty. I expect to drive the car 6,000-8,000 miles per year.
Fidelity is a third party warranty so the MB original warranty has no effect. My S550 was placed in service in September 2014, and out of warranty when I bought it.
The Platinum warranty is an "everything but..." type of warranty, and the items excluded are generally maintenance type items. The Gold warranty lists what is included.
You can buy a Fidelity warranty from any dealer that has a relationship with Fidelity. It does not have to be a MB dealer. I ended up getting the best price from a local MB dealer.
I have already used the warranty to replace the pneumatic pump for the seat bladders and reload software as touch pad was not working. Dealer processed the claim with no issue.
There are several threads on the W222 forum that addresses extended warranties.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for your input, I have not had to use mine yet, but this mirrors the experiences I read about on Rennlist regarding Fidelity prior to my purchasing coverage from them.

S550e
S550e extension warranty

Hi all,
It's time to choose an extension warranty for my car.
S550e, 2016, 43.000 miles. The factory warranty ends after 2 months.
I am considering two options:
1. FD warranty PLatinum
72 months/72,000 miles/$8,860 price/$250 deductible
2. Ford PremiumCare
72 months/75,000 miles/$7,690 price/$100 deductible

Does anyone have any experience or information on why Ford's warranty is worse than Fidelity?

I strongly suggest looking into CarShield. With this mileage you should be eligible for Diamond coverage, which is almost like a new car warranty. I signed up with 40K miles on my CLS. The cost is $109/month.

Already discussed this. No AMG coverage.

Quick bump for anyone looking for a warranty. I just purchased Fidelity through Michael and he was really great to deal with.

Big thanks to Orcbolg for this recommendation.

MB of Elmbrook - Rafael

Hi folks, new AMG GT owner here. Several other members on this forum have shared their positive experience working with MB of Elmbrook to purchase their warranty (which is how I found them and went that route as well), and I wanted to reinforce that experience.

Rafael Dianov, their finance manager, was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and easy to communicate with. His price was fair and he was very responsive. Highly recommended.

Looking forward to joining threads, learning more about my new beast, and getting to know you all!
