High Temp Brake Fluid for a track day?

I'm planning to attend a Hooked on Driving event with several 20 minute sessions. I'm not pushing the car hard. Do I need high temp brake fluid for this?

Thanks for the guidance!

Doesn’t hurt and always helps. I would never track a car, especially a GT without high temp brake fluid. Cheap insurance to help keep the car in one piece.

Have a great time!

Thanks Bill. Just called Renntech to see if they could perform the service before the track event this Friday and I was told they don't have Castrol SRF in stock and neither does their supplier. I read some of the threads on brake fluid and SRF was popular, but looking for an alternative now.

I also prefer Castrol SRF, but have used general off the shelf DOT 4 in a pinch with no issues. It takes about 10 days for me to receive Castrol SRF from Amazon.

Endless 650 is excellent, as is the AP Racing (#3 iirc) DOT 4 brake fluid

Can't go wrong with any of the above mentioned fluids. If you are on steel rotors be careful for brake fade!

Thanks to everyone for the feedback! I have to wonder... why doesn't a $150k car built to compete with other world class sports cars come with high-temp brake fluid to begin with?

This is because few people who buy the car track them. The brake fluid the car comes with is fine for normal use and an occasional run at the track where the average person just wants to floor it on the straights and feel the speed. And when they brake they don't brake with near enough force to heat the fluid. However if you are serious about tracking the car then you are using the brakes in a manner that they can accommodate but still need some mods....like high temp brake fluid. It is the same reason they don't come with tires sufficient for racing - and you likely would want to play with the alignment as well. Also, people who race are fussy about brands of brake fluid...so that's another issue

One more option that I use which seems to be readily available is Motul 600.
