the carbon fiber side blades and rear diffuser are a single piece so may require replacing the entire assembly to upgrade. Not sure what's currently available but possibly something in the future from APR Tuning or RENNtech. I just replaced the factory black plastic fender louvers with carbon fiber units from RENNtech. They look amazing but were expensive!

Good on your for replacing that textured black plastic, as it looks so cheap and out of place on the car, especially with every other bit on the exterior being carbon or gloss black.

Solarbeam yellow GTRs are uncommon, but not entirely rare. I am curious to see those build #s though.

great photos and would also love to know how many Solar Beam Yellow GT cars were produced. Especially now that the color has been retired. Out of 150 Pros that came to the US I believe mine is one of only three but haven't been able to confirm.

yes took advantage of the 20% off over holidays and posted some pictures in this thread. They do look awesome and should have come that way from the factory. Also considered the lower cost version from APR but the louver design appears identical to the factory. RENNtech has more open design and much more aggressive looking. A lot more money for sure but since the louvers are such a visible part it was worth spending the extra $$$ IMO.

Hahah thank you - it is a tricky thing to say. The GTR is phenomenal car to drive - in ways I wouldn't have expected. However, I think the GTC Roadster is the more visceral experience. I have been contemplating getting a 718 Spyder to get a taste of that sweet roadster experience back. Don't get me wrong though, I am the happiest man alive with the GTR!

Interesting. I had the 718 spyder and a SBY GTC as my choice for my next car, and decided to buy the first available one that met my spec. A SBY came available first but I may still end up with a Spyder before it's all over. Completely different cars, both real drivers cars.

I wish the roof mechanism wasn't so cumbersome but the car is beautiful and it comes standard with a manual 7 speed transmission. A rare commodity these days.

Thats the charm in the car though! The OG 987 Boxster Spyder had the clunkiest mechanism, but the 981 and 718 are quirky enough to have charm yet not a total pain.
