Advice on 2020 GTR Roadster for a Corvette Z06 owner.

Currently own 2016 Corvette Z06 convertible and considering a 2020 GTR Roadster. For those who have owned both, your insights would be appreciated. Ride quality-touring vs comfort mode, sport vs sport mode etc...

Currently own S550 4Matic so the GTR would be a summer only good weather vehicle. I would dealer trade the Corvette for the GTR.

2016 gts
Hello, I've had both. Ordered 15' z06 with z07 package. The 2020 gtr is the best car to date after going through a 911gt3 ,z06 ,16 gts.
The gtr is more refined of a car, much more finished interior and actually a better handling also.
It's not the smash in the face power of a c7 z06 but do I really need to spin wheels at 60mph? Went through 2 sets of Michelin cup 2's in 3,500 miles. You will take a bath on trade in but cut your losses and move up never look back, pay more up front get more back later.

15' z06

2020 gtr 800 miles out of Kentucky Mercedes dealer.

Not many GTR Roadsters out there. A rare specimen. A GTC vert’ is more common.

Yesterday I was driving behind a black gtr convertible with demo plates - it was pretty amazing, it is a really nice car.

It combines GTR performance with the roadster experience but it has some drawbacks as mentioned in this interesting well put together video.

300sl roadster
My last vette was a 94 ZR1, so it's been awhile, but I do have a 2020 GTR Roadster.. Previously had a 2018 GTC Roadster and still have a Porsche C/GT.. I watched the posted YouTube review and was really confused with the fellow's numerous references to "steering wheel wobble"... He came close to summarizing the car as unsafe at speed... If he wants to feel something a little twitchy at trip-digits he needs to strap into the C/GT ! Regarding the extra weight, two different reviews show about 165# difference between the coupe and roadster.. not sure at 600hp that one can sense the difference.. I will say the the car is really quick and the DCT tranny has a lot to do with the speed.. I also have a Renntech tune.. You can get a GTC roadster and with a tune have the same power with a little less body stiffness and somewhat of a smoother ride.. There can be no question about fit and finish against the Corvette.. I like a sunny day with the top down, I like handling and HP, I like current racing technology coming to the street and the GTR Roadster checks those boxes for me... It's tough to qualify cost vs. value but I really like my roadster and have not looked backward for one second...

☐ Rekt ☑ Not Rekt
Had a 15 Z06, a 16 Z06 Callaway, an an 18 GTR coupe.

If you’re going to go cab I would highly recommend the GTC cab. If a person isn’t going to track, they’re giving up a smidgen of performance to get a better all around GT street car, and the C is much closer to a GTR in performance and dynamics than to a GTS, so you’re not losing much. The C is also a little more subtle in its design without the wing.

Think of it this way, the GTC is more analogous to the C7 Z06, the R is more analogous to the C7 ZR1 inasmuch as both having track aero bits on a convertible.

Agree with most of above. I've owned 8 vettes over the years and 2 C7 ZO6's one convertible and one hard top (both with the ZO7 package). I drove a GT C and GTR . I went with the GT C roaster. The GT's in comfort mode are harder rides than the ZO6 in tour. Space is less in the GT over the vette, but not much. I like the fit/finish/sound/handing better in the GT. I miss the heads up display, apple car play, and a few other minor things like tire temp in the ZO6. The GT is a great car and I think you'll like it over the ZO6. It puts a smile on my face every single time I drive it.

I purchased it back in November with 1,400 miles on it and it just now has 4k miles in less than 2 months.

yes heads up display on the z06 very cool. Didn't like the control knob for different handling settings , every single time turn all the way, push button twice, turns again. Gtr one push done all off.
just wish the gtr had the targa top though, one thing I really miss. Gtr is much better all the way around.
