Well, I have to say....after almost 3 years of driving the 2019 GTC, I’m glad to upgrade to the final mode year. The front camera and digital dash are excellent, and CarPlay is also excellent. I won’t miss the snapples and crackles. I saw that in a convertible Jag driving in front of me one day & decided that it was a tad overdone. A nicely tuned V8 is all I need. Ordered the 2021 in white on macchiato beige with night package and ceramics. And it’ll be my keeper.
Unless I can get an 812 GTS one day.....

About that new digital dash....grrrrr. I have it in my new W213 E63s. What a complete pain in the a**! It has a light sensor poorly placed to react to light outside the cabin and compensate dark/light settings. It will randomly darken the screen to make it unreadable as your driving through a street where it might have caught for a moment a shadow of a tree or something else it shouldnt have. Ive taken it to Mercedes and, its working as designed.

The problem with the E Class etc. is that the digital dash is completely out in the open and subject to glare. The GT has the same digital dash as the C63, recessed into the dash where the analog gauges used to be and still protected by the dash hood. There's zero problem with glare or the brightness changing constantly. I also like the graphics and color schemes much better than the ones in the E63. This is how pretty much everybody else does digital dashes. I never found the side-by-side displays in the E etc. a smart idea. Not only do you get glare, but the steering wheel constantly blocks parts of the screens. I think it's the worst design MB ever came up with, but I love the digital dash in the C63 and GT.

Took delivery of my MY2021 GTC Today. Carbon Fibre/Night/White on White/Ceramic brakes. Looking forward to getting it on the road after the PPF and Ceramic are done. Going to apply the new Suntek Reaction PPF (very hydrophobic and better optical properties for paint depth). A quick ECM file swap adds quite a bit more horsepower, but I'm not sure I'm going to do that - the car performs perfectly in its stock config.

Absolutely love the analog buttons on the center console of my 2019. Perhaps I’m in the minority, but I don’t want an all digital dash. It’s nice in my G550, but I wouldn’t trade the real analogue dials in the GTC for a screen.

That’s too bad! Will make ours more valuable.

Congratulations! I love mine. I’ve been enjoying it for almost a year now and hold it down to the USA to drive some of the best roads in the world. In fact, I might just keep it down here and I have been unable to find a replacement for it to drive in Canada. Ended up getting a build slot for a new 911 turbo S cabriolet. I decided to abandon Mercedes because I don’t think they are going in the right direction for car enthusiasts. But it looks like Porsche is doing the opposite.

You may want to wait for the new AMG GT, which will be a reworked version of the new SL.

could not believe the car’s supernatural ability to predict what I wanted to do. I do a lot of high speed canyon carving, and the 911 far beats out most of the cars I’ve tried.
MB will probably make an electrified GT roadster with a 4 pot, but I won’t hold my breath for a proper AMG. I think that the company went in the wrong direction, and that is in the direction of cars for non-enthusiasts that don’t know any better.
In the meantime, Porsche has committed to retaining their flat 6 and perhaps adding an EV booster to it, which is reassuring to the future of Porsche.
Bought my wife a Cayenne hybrid with a V8. Another supernatural wonder that drives and performs like a sports car that exceeds the abilities of many sports cars. Truly a wonder with the hybrid. This is what turned me on to Porsche.
It will be interesting to see what MB comes up with for the GT series, but in my opinion, they did not do a very good job with the SL from the perspective of a relatively young sports car enthusiast.
The SL series is an excellent grandma and grandpa series where there is still some spice in their old bones. I am glad it exists, but it looks like Mercedes has left the game for the rest of us.

I hear you. But the dealer loaned me a 911 to drive for the afternoon to see if I liked it - and it blew me away.

The irony I experienced with the 911 was that the suspension was so good that you needed the turbo version to up the experience. The 400hp versions were just bland. And I’m not paying $200,000 for a used turbo.

New management at AMG. The C suite after Tobias Moers aren't really driving enthusiasts. Schiemer, the new CEO is a sales and marketing guy. I honestly don't know why they chose him. He seems to have no chops when it comes to performance cars. He was heading up MB Brazil before. The new CTO is also clearly not a driver. I saw him driving the new C63 on the press drives. He even messed up Race Start and was driving like a grandpa. This stuff trickles down to the products. If you don't have true enthusiast at the helm then all you get is marketing. Moers was the guy who pushed through the AMG One. Would never have happened under the current management. Sad future ahead for AMG. I'll be in the Stuttgart area at the beginning of the year and booked the Affalterbach Factory tour again. I'm curious about the mood over there and wanted to chat with them about the new direction.

Wow! What a great reply! I know a very enthusiastic fanboy at one of the MB dealerships who is a certified AMG technician.
And the poor guy is miserable. He sees no joy on the horizon. I got to know him after my repeated complaints about my 2021 GLE63S. Drove like it was totally disconnected from the road. Turbo lag was horrific with the new “mild hybrid” system and not fixable. The throttle mapping was also off and not that modifiable.
The interior was unbelievably good but driving the thing was like instantly turning into a grandpa with a serious case of the pokies. Not in the least bit fun. In fact, after a few months, we found that we would use almost any excuse to not drive it. Only had about 3500km on it when we sold it.
somebody will love it, but they won’t be a driving enthusiast.
This experience was the indication to me that the AMG brand is done. So I have abandoned the brand going forward after having bought 8 brand new AMG’s over the past few years.
I might keep my 21 GTC and my 21 G63. The latter is like driving a turbocharged bouncy castle and is super fun. But the Cayenne Turbo hybrid V8 is almost supernaturally good. Had to have both of them.
I suspect that 2021 is going to be the last “fun” G63 that one can get. The EV version will be too limited and too heavy to be worthy of serious consideration.
