Okay ladies and gentlemen, Burt has lost his mind, but please hear me out. The Project 1 and the Aston Martin Valhalla are the same car with different engines. First they took the prior year F1 chassis and now they took the Project One.
The hood, the tail, the aero, the windshield, the side profile, all the same. This also explains how AM is so confident the Valhalla will do 6.30 at the Nürburgring, the Project One has been running it for a while now and that car is probably in the 6.2x time.
BR, you have not lost your mind. TM also brought on an ex-AMG engineer to AM. With CAD/CFD tools these days, it is very likely the designs converged. Just look at F1 cars.
I am already guessing the newly introduced LMH series will eventually have similar designs eventually. But damn that Peugeot 9X8. Have you seen that car yet? Sexy MFer.
The fact that the P1 and the new AM are nearly the same car isn’t too surprising given the following;
Some Other Salient Points Regarding The MB AM Relationship;
- MB also owns a large block of AM stock and recently substantially increased their position.
- Tobias Moers is the new AM Charman
- A long term contract/agreement was recently completed for AM to use AMG drivetrains AND MB’S EQ platforms
- There is speculation that MB may absorb the remaining portion of AM over the next 3-5 years.

Good find! The DBX is a GLC63S up ticked by Aston Martin. I like that the brands have converged. It’s working well.

The two are entirely different. I’ve been to the factories for the ONE. Which are made right beside the F1 cars. The owners are deeply engaged in the project since early 2017.
deliveries begin sometime next year for eu cars pending certification, then US cars.
Aston had nothing ready for the Valhalla. So Tobias when he came in sorted this by getting parts from merc. That’s why it looks drastically different from the first concepts, Aston just didn’t have the money for the tooling to create what they first came up with. Project one will have its own stand alone bits mainly the engine but the Aston is definitely using some of the merc parts bin.
