MB just gave us a gift. Hold on to your GTs! They are limited production, exotic everyday drivers (awesome track cars!) that are proving to be reliable platforms that are discontinued. A Merc that should hold its value very well.

Whoopee! In other words, another 2+ ton pig.
Based on the camo shots the new coupe looks like a cross between the C coupe and the 4-door GT, with lots of bloat. Is it going to be a 4-seater, too?

I'm a little skeptical of that since MBUX 2.0 requires a touchscreen, so it'll likely have the portrait style screen perhaps integrated differently. The 2-seater comment is likely true though since it is retaining the liftback design of the previous generation. Still an early test model so I guess we'll have to wait for some of that camo to shed.

A center screen is a certainty given MBUX2, as js_cls stated. There is no reason why MB would change their interface strategy for a low volume car.
That said, these are unusually high resolution spy shots that show the car is pretty much production-ready under the camo and the 6 months gap between the roadster (SL) and coupe (GT) seem to hold true. To be at this stage means both cars have been co-developed at the same time and unfortunately may mean that they share a lot of the hardware...

A rose by any other name is a . . . bloated sedan. What?!? How dare they call that a GT. They need to rename our cars then. It pains me to see this. Clearly I will be leaving the MB world on my next purchase. Plenty of great contenders out there. But yes, I agree. Hold onto our special rides.

2016 GTs, 2014 C63 AMG and 2014 C350 Sport (wife's car, she thinks it's an AMG - shhhhhh)
This news coupled with a crazy trade-in offer on my C63 is what jolted me into action. The roadster is now reserved for the SL class only. This can only mean that the existing GT's will hold value well.

Comparing the proportions to the C190 AMG GT, the new one has a shorter hood with much less dash to axle distance, and a longer area behind the seats. Maybe it'll have useless tiny rear seats like the SL (and 911)? It's not bad-looking, but just looks rather ordinary compared to the current AMG GT or especially the prior SLS AMG. It appears to have the same proportions and dimensions as the R232 SL, except as a coupe rather than a convertible.

At this point I guess the back seats are best reserved for pets that don't have to fit their legs in that tiny gap between front and rear seat.
