First do everything that has accumulated in the workshop in the meantime. I've had customers' vehicles in for weeks. Meanwhile 5. All work with a little more effort.
Did the smaller standard things right away. But only because I also worked on Sundays. Against my faith :-) :-) :-)
GT has been neglected for a long time. Maybe I can do the exhaust flaps / blow off project before Switzerland (mid-May).
Any way yesterday I managed to get some more work done on the GTC - oil lines/pipes installed - AC lines hooked up & ready for service vacuum/charge - engine oil cooler lines hooked up - steering union reconnected - working on getting the telescoping clamp back and located etc.
It looks/feels like about another 20-25 hours away (when I can find the time) from getting this one done.
Send me some pictures of your daughters finished project when you get time.

Well the GTC motor install is now completed and he car has been picked up by the owner for it's 1200 miles drive back home.
The original drive shaft compensation ring had to be replaced with a new one as they come pre-loaded from the factory with shims installed, these are pulled out ones the transmission is bolted back on. (see pictures)
After the install the car started up right away but kept throwing misfiring codes due to the fact the 1/2 tank of gasoline in the tank (over 1 year old) was bad - Techron, fresh gas and an Italian tune up cleared that up after a 100+ miles test drive. It's my experience these cars are sensitive to the quality of the gasoline in their tank.

Take inventory of all the remaining GTS and GTC engine parts I have acquired after the completion of these (2) projects.
Drive the heck out my GTS between TX & FL in order to find, survey & sea trial likewise vessels and engines for one of these (see pictures) as I'm the contracted buying agent for one of my marine clients.
Driving up in the GTS does get attention in the various boat yards and does spark a lot of interest conversations especially when people realize that I drive an "IFIXIT".
Happy to tell them about this interesting community, it's diversity of owners from all walks of life and how driving these cars is so different from the current trend of going with EV type vehicles!
Call me old school but "ICE" is what I grew up with, for me driving, maintaining my GTS is an extension of my own ability and I get to drive the cream of the crop.
.... could you please move the air intake, from the hot engine room, to the outside...... :-) :-)

Yes that's normal the marine environment and salt air/water make it hard to change that.
Yes in this picture they are Cats, other popular marine engines are Cummings and MTU's (Mercedes marine division) in all kind of HP ranges.
