Battery tender hook up
I plugged mine into the hatch outlet, but it doesn't allow me to lock the car and don't want to force it.
Has anyone come up with a solution to accomplish both charging and locking afterward?

I think a few here just slam the hatch on the cord. I don't, but some do. That will work at least for a while, dependent on how many cycles the cord and hatch seal go through.
Curious, If you need to lock the car (for security?), wouldn't the charger itself be in jeopardy?

Good to know. I was going to hook it to the engine and run the cord through the cowl by the windshield so I could lock it, but it's on the bottom of my lift and raising the hood is cumbersome and I can't back it out yet since there's snow outside.

I plug mine into the trunk plug, lay the cord flat and close the hatch - the cord does not get pinched and slides around freely - also I can lock the car while it’s on the charger (16 GTS)

Glad to hear you have a sense for my warped humor. Ship that baby out to my place in UT to break it in;73 degrees , bright blue sky's. You can even stay with it at the house plenty of room.

If I ever make it out to Utah, we'll have a toast! The east coast is vast, but if you're ever out this way, let me know.

You are more analytical than I am. I assumed a 12v charger would work on any style 12v battery. I have a couple this size and a couple the next size larger that I hook to boat or car batteries.https://www.harborfreight.com/15-wat...ger-62449.html

Eyeman, it is not a good assumption that any 12v source is sufficient for any chemistry battery. I would suggest an inverter connected to your solar panel and then plug in a c-Tek battery charger and purchase a C-teak specific to the technology of,your battery (Lithium Ion or Lead-Acid).
