From your description, no that doesn't sound normal. A constant pulsing is not what one understands of steering feel and feedback. The GT has a hydraulic steering vs many other cars including M cars have electronic power steering these days, and modern M cars aren't exactly known for good steering feedback anymore. But steering feel and sensation is essentially torque feedback through the steering rack that tells you what the front wheels are doing. If they are loosing grip you can feel through the steering that it's becoming light and if the wheels are working harder to turn you can also feel that in the steering effort required. You may also feel the wheels following minor ruts in the road, so external forces that make the wheels slightly deviate from straight can be felt in the steering wheel. A steering that lacks any feedback will essentially feel like a video game. You turn it, but you can't really tell what the front wheels are doing and how much grip they have. I suppose this is a bit hard to explain, but hopefully it makes sense. A pulsing or vibration in the steering wheel would be something else.

Yeah that doesn't sound right. You should not feel the irregular surface of the road in the steering wheel in the form of vibration or pulsation. You'll feel that through the suspension and the seat, depending on how rough the road it. Originally Posted by mjr24

Don't know from the top of my head what the recommended tire pressures are for the GT, but I believe max load is 36f/39r. This would actually be too high for an unloaded car with only you as the driver. Check the placard inside of the fuel door. It has all the pressures listed for different speeds and loads. You wanna use the normal load pressure for most of your driving. It's lower than what you find on the door jamb. The latter is also max load and top speed only in North America. Bah, I’m a moron. I accidentally posted this in the coupe section. I actually have a 4 door coupe. It’s 38 rear and 39 front for cold PSI. I think my tires are warmed up currently….so I did 42 front and 41 rear (assuming 3 PSI from cold to hot).

Haha...that's what happens when manufacturers call something a coupe, when it really is a sedan. Anyway, AWD does change things a bit. There's a level of impurity in the steering with the front wheels also handling propulsion instead of just steering the car. Although, 4Matic+ sends almost 100% to the rear under normal traction situations. But you could eliminate AWD from the equation by putting the car in drift mode and see if it makes any difference. I buy pretty much only $100k plus cars....they don't seem to want to keep my business. Let's put it this way....had I know this car had these issues, I wouldn't have looked twice at it.
I am in discussion with the dealer and they seem like they want to work something out....I would rather not have to involve corporate in this. It's just been a stressful few weeks....like I said, this car did not meet MB specs for CPO as it was sold. I've heard corporate actually hammers down pretty hard on stuff like this......it might be one thing if we were just talking one bent wheel overall....but not multiple AND multiple refinishing of panels. Let's just be honest....if I bought this car elsewhere and brought it to this same dealer for possible trade-in, they would ding me for every one of these same things. Sorry, venting...
Definitely not a pleasant experience, but I have to ask. Did you not test drive the car? If you think the vibration should have been noticed on a test drive, why didn't you notice it and brought it up before buying the car? Same for the paint. Did you not inspect it before buying it? Unfortunately, CPO is more show than substance and it's not just with MB. Dealerships don't take these inspections all that serious. They rather get paid for the repairs through the warranty than spending a lot of time on the certification. As for Mercedes me, it has changed completely with model year 2019. What year is your car? The new system is called Mercedes me connect. Different app, different everything. Works very well on my car. Just renewed for another year as the initial complimentary 3-year subscription is gonna expire next month. Some of this takes a bit of due diligence before buying the car to know what to expect. If yours is a 2018 or older than you are on mBrace which is end of life and several services have been terminated already. Can't renew live traffic anymore for example. Wow. With the "key information reveal" (wrecked car and not even a GT) - makes me wish I hadn't wasted time on this thread. Maybe you could get it moved out of GT and edit your first post to include the real / key information so others don't waste their time reading through all of this. It's like asking a bunch of questions about your pet Fido on a dog thread, and then only revealing 10 long comments later that Fido is an elephant with a broken leg. Haha.
