Any one drive a Porsche 992 GT3

I have been trying to get a Porsche 992 GT3. Forget getting an allocation there are none to be had. Even if it were, the ADM is 100-150k.

Flipped lightly used cars have ADM of 60-80. There are lots available. I was wondering if nearly 300k is worth it for a used car.

I have a 2018 AMG GTS . I would keep it but was wondering how the 992 GT3 would compare

I would ask the Rennlisters on RL. There will be no shortage of opinions.

I belong to Rennlist. I think their opinion is biased. All Rennlisters feel that the Porsche is the only car anyone should drive

Completely different experience. The 911 has been working on itself for 60 years - killer car and the GT3 that much better at everything it can be asked to do; including being capable of a daily if you were inclined. Unlike previous GT3 versions, this one is a little better at being driven casually. One thing in my experience that Porsche ripped out of their cars along the path to perfection, is their soul. The thing will do anything except give you that visceral feeling that you would expect from a car that does the things that it does.

If you want to track a car better than most while you barely break a sweat and sip your coffee, this is that car. If you want to get the feels as much as it is capable, you might be left with a regret.

Hmmm, I thought the GT3 would give me a raw experience. More noise, more exhilarating than the AMG .

I would be driving it daily during summer months. 1-2 track days a year. Not sure if the 300k price tag is worth it if not engaging

I had considered the Turbo s but I figured that other than a few more Hp , the experience would be the same as the AMG .

I think you’ll be disappointed only driving track three times a year. The car really doesn’t start to make any power until 5000 RPM and on the street that’s gonna get you into a lot of trouble. And it goes with saying that the torque numbers are very low to what you’re used to.

300k i silly. I would consider Mclaren with a warranty.

+1 on the McLaren - the 720 Performance with a warranty is SO much car for the money comparatively

Fast and Really Fast Sports Cars
991 GT3 owner here.

Passed on an op to get into 992 GT3 even with a $30k ADM new. Well firstly, I refuse to pay ADM on any new car. It's a shiny new toy that is just that for the moment. Secondly, the 992 GT3 didn't make me feel a whole world different from my 991. The engine sounds great, individual TBs which is closer to the RSRs raced in GTLM class. The gooseneck wing has that wow factor and the double wishbone actually is fun to drive. That said, it's quite a clinical car. But one could argue every gen of GT3s tend to be more precise and tweaked just that bit better than the previous. For the current market, I think the 991.1 or .2 (including GT3 RS) is still a good buy and 997.1 or .2 GT3 a great buy for the right money.

Also to echo some of the sentiments here, the GT3 for me quickly became more of a track car than a street car. Occasionally still drive on the street but not as frequent as before.
