Just took delivery yesterday of this 2020 GT R in a one off factory color of Arancia Orange Pearl! It's a one owner car and had 1600 miles. This is my first Mercedes of any kind (been mostly a Porsche guy) and I couldn't be happier. I've been circling the AMG GT line of cars for a while and finally found one that made me pull the trigger. Lots to learn both dynamically as well as the tech. Took it on the maiden voyage this morning and wasn't disappointed. Love the V8, love the turbos and love the interior. Looking forward to many miles and adventures!
I had come from a 911 as well - these cars have such a cool feeling in comparison! It just does a better job of the feels...the 911 is an incredible car but during its 60 years of development, unless you are moving into one of their flagships like a GT3 or RS, they sacrificed soul for performance.
I started with a GTC and moved to a GTR Pro after I missed the car too much. Can't say enough about these cars. Great decision on your part - you will love it!
Root Beer no. Benz Burnt Orange Metallic yes. Interesting color!!
In the shade Burnt Orange is an apt description!

I'm very fortunate to also own a 991.1 GT3RS and I think these will make a great pair!
Hell of a lineup! You’ll never be accused of being “dull”, hell even the house is full of color. What’s the plate gonna read? Kids and I always used the phrase “Orange ya’ glad” ORNGYGLD. First I typed ORGYGLD but that might be frowned upon 🤣. Cars beautiful enjoy it!
Having owned many 911’s, starting from 964 to Turbos and a GT3. I still enjoy my GT-R the best.
Somehow, 911’s get much of the air time, Our GT’s not such much. That’s fine with me.
My GT3 is in production right now with a delivery date of next month. I sold my 992 C4S as it was just not for me. I have a feeling that the new GT3 may not be around that long. I love my GTR.
I really like the orange and wish that I could see it in person.

Unfortunately we only get 7 letters in California! My first idea is ONLYONE or some derivative of that. I can't see what's available until I get my normal plate first. I will update when I've found something that works!

Congrats on your incoming GT3! What color/options did you get? If I had to keep only 1 car it would be the GT3RS, it's my dream Porsche. There is such a simplicity and directness to it. The GTR is such an amazing car though and the contrast to the RS is so much fun to experience.

actually you can go on the CA DMV site and search and pay for a plate without having your permanent plate available.
Just pick any of your other cars with a permanent plate to order it. It doesn’t get automatically linked - you pick it up at the DMV and do it then. You’ll get your standard plate months before you get your vanity plate so you save time and the chance someone grabs what you want.
