ASR EVM controller module how to install?

Hi,

How do I remove - and/or disconnect - the original connector in order to install ASR's ME2-GT cable?

I must be either doing something wrong, and/or assuming something wrong.

Any ideas?

Press the black ribbed looking clip down and once it clears the gray slider gently slide the gray slider towards the black clip you pressed to unlock it and it will move the whole connector away.

Cool thanks.

Got it done, and confirmed working.
Also needed M9 socket piece to undo the ground bolt.
Re-doing the nuts, I managed to lose the top one, so it fell behind the fuse box.

Tomorrow, lets see how loud is the mid-range... before the change, idle / upper range is nice and beefy (no OPF, too) and I assume will be no difference.

not same car but as you know stock it really doesn't open up too much when idling
,

will it be as drastic difference like downpipes... nope but it should make the experience even more enjoyable, still look forward to perhaps exhaust clips of open and close with the new module if you don't mind.

Honestly, the EVMs are mostly for the startup sound, since the cars like to warm start very quietly, and sub 4k rpm range.

Yup, if you don't always WOT and just shifts around 4K-5K then the module would be nice, otherwise if flooring it all the time just leave it stock as above those RPM it should open the valves fully anyways in sport+ or race.

I always leave it in Comfort, and do not usually shift above 4000 RPM, unless its German autobahn time.

My comments:
* cold start idle ~1500 RPM ever so slightly different (see OPF comment). Sounds like a tank, regardless :-)
* loudness appears consistent from 1500-3000 RPM when accelerating, just as I suspect it would.
* cruising at 100-120kph, ~2500 RPM is ever so slightly annoying, (mostly like due to OPF being removed, MY2020 EU spec)
* did not try full boost (26 psi).

Thanks for the initial impressions, looking forward to more : )
It is a common compliant (drone) on highway speeds but the lovely thing is you can just hit the "default" button on the ASR module remote and it is solved, once off freeway,
then fully open again : )

Drone. Exactly. Absolutely agree with you.

I was bored and curious, and wanted to experiment with this ASR module.

like 99%+ of the overall loudness solution is to effectively have straight through dump pipes (if that is where the OPF is located), which I have.
Today, I was on a convoy drive, there was one GT R (pre-facelift) but 850ps and one GT C but stock power and facelift, both effectively with straight dump pipes, and sounded tank-like and loud .
I do not know how mine sounds since it sounds different from within the car and outside the car... but with the ASR module it should be consistent from low RPM... where as theirs are only fully open 4000 RPM+, which I can confirm by the crazy loudness ;-)

I never tried enabling the module, or even normal open exhaust mode, on the autobahn... it would be just nuts in terms of loudness either way ;-) I need to focus whilst driving 200-250 kph than the excessive noise ;-)

For sure, hopefully you have a friend to record a drive by with ASR EVM on and off to compare : )

I did many multi hour drives, after installing the ASR module, and thankfully never experienced drone. I drove it in wide open mode for 2 or 3 years, only ever closing the values a handful of times, when I was leaving the neighborhood REALLY early in the morning.

I see, glad there is no drone and glad you enjoy it.
