Extended manufacturers warranty
My factory warranty is set to expire soon so I called my MB dealer and they offered to extend my manufacturers warranty for up to 3 years at the prices below
1 year: 4,500
2 years: 6,500
3 years: 7,500
If the car is sold back to the dealership, they'd offer a prorated refund. I think the 3 year option is the way to go as it's only an additional $200 a month, but was still wondering what the general consensus is on these prices?

Sounds about the same as I was quoted by my Canadian dealer ... 3 yr for GTR Pro extension at about $8,500 with inspection. I've read the agreement and it looks fairly comprehensive. Although I do relatively low mileage, given that I track the car, I'm going to do it. I've never been one to "over-insure" but I think this is one of those rare cases where it's a good idea ... though it's one of those expenses one hopes is a complete waste (like tire chains, tire-repair kit, tow rope, ...).

he gave me a fantastic deal on my 17 before the factory warranty went out on a 7/70 platinum fidelity

FWIW, we used the MB new car extended warranty and paid $6950 for the 3 year one (7yr/75k miles). Like that it's refundable. It can only transfer to a private party so if the car is sold to dealer or traded-in, you will get the money back (pro-rated). Not a bad deal for a peace of mind.
The prices can be negotiated btw., just like the price of the car...
