Dealer Damages Pristine 2020 AMG GTA

I've had worse. Back in 2007 I brought my brand new M6 Interlagos blue convertible to the local BMW dealer for the break-in service. The dealer advertised a touch up service and because I drove the car hard I had a few stone chips. I asked them to touch it up.
When I went to pick the car up there was an 18 inch long scratch on the hood about an eighth of an inch wide. It had been touched up; of course it looked awful. The scratch was in a straight line, so it looked as if there was something above the hood that touched it and the guy driving the car just kept driving straight until he figured out he was beating the sh** out of the car.
The dealership didn't point out the damage to me. When I pointed out the scratch the service rep said "We touched it up, just like you said." That really pi**ed me off. I showed him the sign in sheet which showed 3 or 4 stone chips and told him I wanted it fixed by Prestige in the Valley which was, at the time, a superior repair shop. It took a couple of weeks but when I got it back it was perfect and the stone chips were gone too. Although I had a bunch of other cars at the time I did ask for an M5 with a stick for the two weeks it was in the shop. (The M6 had the awful SMG transmission. The stick shift was like butter.)

I've found that when people who should be angry are calm but insistent, they do better in negotiations than the angry, loud people. Calm people are scarier.

Everything is relative folks. Perspective is everything.
It's only a bumper. Not a human being. This is an easy fix and I salute the OP for his understanding that **** happens.

The car is being sent back to my dealer Monday and I will have the dealer deliver it to my house.
The dealer was on top of the situation after damaging the car and the service reps worked hard to make sure I was pleased. I am.

Trust but verify.

I don't think MalibuScott was planning on lying about the damage, but maybe just wants a chance to explain and show pictures if/when he decides to sell.

I don't plan to sell the GT, but if I were to do so, I would not conceal the fact that it has been repaired.

We hereby bestow you with all the privileges of wearing your *** on your head for all to see! Enjoy!

If I ever sell my car and a potential buyer tries to argue the price down over the paint repair, I will not sell to that rat ba***rd. Stand fast.
I'm enjoying this thread.

Non sequitur: if you ever break down in the Texas Panhandle, Mercedes Benz of Lubbock is great! Just off Buddy Holly Avenue.

So I haven't had any interest in driving in Texas since. But thanks for the tip. I assume you Texans are now used to German cars on your roads.

The dealer will remain nameless. It was not a great A Service experience.
