2019 Raw Fuel Leak
2019 Raw Fuel Leak
Any one here had a raw fuel leak just behind the rear driver side wheel? Car has just under 3000 miles and has never been damaged.
Dealer isolated the issue to the rigid fuel line part # 190-470-16-00-64 priced at $58. When I physically looked at the fuel line it appeared to be a low quality rigid plastic line with press-fit connections at both ends.
I have owned 9 MB's in my lifetime and have never seen this. Please share if you've had a similar experience and if the replacement held up over time.
One of my frustrations was the inability to put the car in neutral (without starting the engine for obvious reasons) and roll it back into the driveway. Looked everywhere and it seems like there is no way to temporarily put the transmission in Neutral.
Thank you.

There is a 2019 MB Bulletin about it (see attached PDF), which fixed the issue for me.
Hope this will help.
In my case, the leak was visible (Dripping) when the car is off and it was literray spraying fuel when the ignition was in the on position and streaming when turned on.
Thank you

Issue has been resolved by the dealer. The fuel line was replaced and car is back on the road. The tech stated that he had never seen this before and he believes it was an isolated incident. IMO the quality of the rigid fuel line was subpar (thin walled plastic hose) and the 1/4" crack at the elbow was mostly due to a freak road debris most likely from a small pebble bouncing around like a pinball. The tech added additional shielding to the line to prevent future mishaps. All other TSBs were addressed to include that of Post #2. I couldn't be more satisfied.
Huge thank you goes out to Fletcher Jones Newport Beach for addresing the issue professionally and expeditiously. Service Advisor Ruben Soltero gets two thumbs up along with his colleagues for walking me through the process, introducing me to Sean the AMG GT tech and Tom the shop Foreman for explaining and showing me the compromoised area under the car while on the lift.

Ordered the least expensive OE parts from that bulletin, from this place.
I will follow up with a video, when I do the job.
