The follow car had generally a much better line through the corners. But I gather this was more of a time trial situation rather than racing so you really couldn't pass I guess. You can always tell the more experience racers by their lines through the corners.

I was the one following. 😎. I’m a few seconds faster but he’s a good friend and I just love going around the track with him cutting through traffic. We take turns following.

Although I have not raced competitively for quite a number of years, all of the skills come back while watching a video like this. Typically the one who wins has the highest minimum speed in the corner, and has the highest exit speed and carries that extra speed all the way down the straight or the short chute. Those extra half seconds and seconds add up and compound to make a win. Or at least put one in an overtaking position as you late break that other car into the corner. Fun!

It was good to watch and reminds me how much I loved it there with the AMG Academy; must return!
Your friend could obviously be much, much quicker as he/she is over braking and not running the correct line in some areas, instead relying on the power to be quick, but that comes with experience with driving on track; knowing the circuit and of course the car. Great fun still though!
