Having dealer do the transmission service while they replace my carbon fiber, drive shaft under recall, and my broken rear driveshaft. $1450 😮. My service advisor told me they use 8 quarts of fluid. Does anybody know if they actually flush the system? Here are some pictures of what they are using and what they took out. I had my Indy shop drop pan and change the filter only five track days ago. It was overheating last day on track. Cool day too.
$1450 for trans service and replace broken drive shaft? Sounds like a deal. Which nor cal dealership?
IIRC total is ≈ 10qt DCT fluid (drain + heat exchanger and add 1 more quart formula during fill).
sorry I wasn’t clear. 1450 for trans service only. Drive shaft is 3200 parts and labor but since they are doing the recall work that overlaps it was 2200. So total for drive shaft and the service is $3650. Stevens Creek MB
how much fluid total goes into system ? My understanding was that a drain only replaces a third or so of the fluid.
pretty dang high. It’s normally 1600. I had to use a coupon to get $150 off. This dealer charges $350 /hr. I have an Indy shop I used previously and he is $900 if I provide the fluids. $200/hr I was already having work done so decided to have the do the service while it was there.

Which is about 8.5qt but in the procedure you need to add an additional 1L (1.06qt). Total 10qt to be on the safe side. So if they used 8qt maybe less was indeed drained out.
MB DTLA charges $2,200 for the DCT and Gear oil service. You've got a great deal.
Man thats brutal for an ATF change. However theres only so many places I'd trust with a car that expensive. Yeah the stuff they're using is the Shell Spirax DCT-F3 which is the correct fill. I don't think theres an MB branded version of it.
Did the scheduled rear diff service with those guys. They ended up overfilling it which caused the car to start spraying oil all over the track a week later. Not recommended
well…. Back to track. Ten min into each session trans overheating still. Had ton of fun still. Last session it gave up. Kept popping into neutral. Then barely engaging. Was able to limp home now looking at new transmission obviously. 15k parts alone. Ughh.
