Advice on repairing leather rip on seat bottom ‘18 GT C Roadster
Hey everyone I went to pick up my GT C today from the detailer and noticed a small tear in the drivers seat leather. The car has recently been shipped, serviced, and now detailed so I’m not sure at what stage the damage occurred. I haven’t been able to drive it much and when I do it’s at night so it’s difficult to confidently direct blame. In any case, anyone have any tips on how to get this fixed? Attaching photos. Thank you!
On a different note, does anyone know and have direct experience with using the Correct aftermarket leather dye Color Code (from either Auto Leather Dye or Leatherique) for the MB OEM Black leather on the seat bolsters for GT R (Interior Upholstery option Code = "651 - Black Nappa, etc ")?
I believe this Black Nappa is the same Black used in multiple different AMG GT x variants
Thanks for the insight folks. I’ve got an appointment at Wardell auto interiors in Santa Clara, CA. I’ll write how it goes in case anyone else in the Bay Area and needs work done in the future.

MY guess is they will sway you towards dye only as that is the least intrusive. They will have to do the whole panel to match. Depending how long you will keep the car and how **** you are, you could always see if you could buy the oem seat leather for a later date.
Ive replaced leather seating surfaces in a 15 year old e55 when I sat in the seat with a screwdriver in my pocket. That was a used perfect condition surface for 150. (have probably done a thousand car repairs and there's always a first and last time) I removed the leather and replaced with another stock cover. Now there is an aftermarket for those vehicles.
Ive also purchased original NOS '06 lx470 leather to replace a slightly worn driver seat surface (maybe about 600).
And lastly, Ive done a full interior leather replacement on a 2000 landcruser as well with a nice kit (big brand) I found randomly on closeout on eBay for 499.
It is an art, but also more of a mechanical skill and is very satisfying to have like new interiors in older vehicles.
