I didn't see a question in your post. Something you want a response on? Personally, not my cup of tea. It's your daily, though, so it has to work for you. I don't view the GTs as dailies. The long low nose likes to scrape and isn't particularly great around town. Tuned ones generally mess up the stock balance, so they can be even less dailies, but some people like to be beat up in their dailies, so it's really up to you. The GTs are more track car than road cars.

As someone who personally spends a small fortune modifying my cars, I'd say I value most of the mods/expense put on that car and think it's worth what you spent. Not a fan of black series anything on a non black series car personally, and I don't like black cars but other than that, I like the mod list and the dude spent a lot of money on that car!

I'd say it's a good buy and I hope you enjoy it! It must be pretty much a monster of a car.

Thanks. Yeah, the question is if the mods make sense based on quality of the parts, reliability, etc. The owner is a well known MB Technician.
Daily? Well yes. I love to drive my cars. Is just 9 miles (20 mins) each way to work. But then I go for a road trip with my wife during the weekends.

You think the owner used it as HIS daily driver?

He is a mechanic, he uses a pickup or van for parts! In my case, I drive 20 mins (9 miles) each way. Don’t like to buy a car as a garage queen. I love to go cross country inside the island.

I daily drove a 90s Corvette, a Porsche, etc, don't think I'd be able to handle daily driving my GTS. I would be closer now that I added a seat cushion..lol. Removing the tint the prior owner installed would help also (my windows are similarly tinted to those of the car you are looking at). I especially don't like to drive my car downtown, not so bad out on the road.

That's kind of a universal trait of AMGs. City/downtown driving is the least enjoyable driving even with my C63S Coupe. I love the 9-speed MCT, but it's not made to tool around at 15 mph in downtown. I constantly have to smooth out the clutch by modulating the throttle when coming to a stop and starting off again. It's not surprising. It's not something AMG designed the 63 level cars for. In their own words, they are designed for the open road and higher speeds. The 43 and 53 models are designed for more daily type driving. It's also far less of an issue in Europe, where most intersections have long been replaced with roundabouts, so traffic flow is more continuous and you have to come to a full stop less often. Stop sign to stop sign driving in American cities is pretty much the worst part of city driving with these cars. This is when I take my wife's car with a torque converter, but the AMG is a hoot on the weekend on the open road. Neither of us commutes or daily drives, so I take the best of the two cars for the job when I do need a car to run an errand etc. I do however love the AMG Performance seats. I have no comfort issues with them whatsoever, even when I occasionally find myself driving downtown.

Modified cars aren’t more reliable than the unmodified ones, and with a car like this, even on the mainland diagnosing repairs and parts availability are difficult. Almost everything on this car is specific to this car. Hopefully you have a large budget for repairs if needed.

Less everyone forgets current tariffs which means higher insurance, parts, service and maintenance fees… My wife dodged a bicycle that fell off a truck. No damage other than a chip into the CF trim behind the passenger side door. Unavailable. Nether here or Germany.

Good points above. I remember reading somewhere else that parts availability is becoming an issue specifically with the GTs. It's a fairly bespoke platform that wasn't sold in very large quantities.

TBH, I would never pay money for some guy's project car. No disrespect to the current owner and his skills or others who heavily modify their cars. But let's be honest. What you have here is a bunch of off the shelve aftermarket parts thrown together that were never calibrated, benchmarked etc. as a complete package. I would only spend money on something like a Brabus if I wanted an upgraded AMG. Those guys have the resources and the staff to design an overall reliable and functional package, that is tested, calibrated and benchmarked. For example they don't just throw a Black Series hood on a GT S for no purpose. I've driven the BS and that hood is part of the aero and cooling architecture of the BS. For all you know, this hood actually worsens the aerodynamics of the GT S as I doubt the owner has put this car through wind tunnel testing after all the modifications.

I've modified cars in the past beyond just simple things as brake discs and tires. I've done subframe modifications, because I felt in stock form it was too loose. At the end of the day it caused unexpected chassis issues such as annoying creaks etc. that were never resolved, and there are things with tuned cars that you have to be aware of such as fouled spark plugs. I know some people enjoy modifying their cars, but at the end these are hobby projects that were never properly tested, especially not long term tested to ensure reliability.

How did you get the headlights to work? Were they plug and play?

I understand yes for the installation. But needed some coding.
