All GT’s have same engine?

Apparently all GT’s, base, S, C and R have the same engine, right? So using engine ECU chip from a R can bring another 100 HP to a base GT? Or there are other needs?

No, it the differences are more than just a tune.

"Base AMG GT / GT S: These models feature lower horsepower ratings, ranging from roughly 456 hp to 510 hp (340–375 kW).
AMG GT C / GT R: These models feature upgraded turbochargers, different tuning, and higher output, reaching up to 577 hp (430 kW).
AMG GT Black Series: This version features the most significant changes, often designated by the internal code M178 LS2. It features a flat-plane crank (rather than the cross-plane crank in other M178s), larger turbochargers, new camshafts, and a new exhaust manifold to support 720+ horsepower."

Different tuning and higher output are in the engine ECM. So that + upgraded turbochargers would give 100+ HP.

Sort of and at a shortened engine life. Pistons are different for the various power levels to achieve different compression ratios and the higher output engines have forged pistons, whereas the lower output engines don't. An ECU tune eats into the engine's internal components headroom and will invariably shorten their lifetime w/o upgrading the internal parts to handle the additional power and not sacrificing reliability.

You are right. I was hopping the engines were built for maximum stresses possible. I don’t track the car but it would be nice to have another 100 HP when you get challenged by BMW M on the road. These roads are not straight like in CO and there are a lot of drivers so you have a very short window to show yours is longer.

Turbos are a different part number for gtc/gtr comparted to gt and gts but look identical. probably 5% more flow or something negligible. Gt black are way bigger. completely different animal.

The GT and GTS have the engine setup & turbos, then GTC and GTR but your engine can easily be tuned. No turbos needed for just 100hp. A tune can do that something like that. The original GT already went from 456hp to 469hp to 523hp (in 2021) from factory alone.
