Spotting/ stains on my polished lip

Just got my new wheel/tire package. First time cleaning the rubber with Bleche White. It dripped to the polished lip of my 19 inch AMG split spokes with rivets. Tried to remove the stains with Mothers metal polish, steel magic and even Tarn-x to no avail. Any suggestions to get the spots off the outer lip. I paid way too much money to have this problem one day after putting these on my C55..

Thanks,
Chuck

Do you have a better picture? I have no idea what you are talking about.

Heh, even though I don't know, have you tried clay bar?

Also, since those are just polished lips, have you just tried soap and water?

Thanks for the reply. I am new to the board. Black 2005 C55 from Ft Lauderdale. Poor picture due to cell phone. Digital camera to be hooked up to my new laptop later in week. Spots are similar to hazing in places where the Bleche White dripped onto the lips. The pic is before the spotting occurred. Hard to see even now. Just annoying since I only put them on 2 days ago.

Clay bar is what you recommend for the wheel lips?

Thanks,
Chuck

Clay bar is what I use whenever I can't get any kind of mark out on almost anything. It'll remove anything down to the clear coat / paint.

On your polished lip, I would try soap and water though first.

Sure thing, make sure you use plenty of lube with the bar so you don't mess up your wheels more.

umm clay bar, NXT all metal polish.. im not sure what that bleche product is. but you must be VERY careful with polished wheels since they get easily stained. here is a picture of my polished aluminum rims which were stained and half the wheels were cleaned with NXT all metal polish

Give NEVR-DULL a try. They are in tin cans and inside them are polishing compound wads.

That hazing is what I have on my wheel lips but to a lesser degree. Your results in the picture sold me. Where do I get the NXT polish?

Pep Boys? Discount Auto?

Thanks,
Chuck

Either one of those stores should have the NXT polish.

Got the NEVR DULL at Pep Boys. They didn't have the NXT Polish .It worked perfectly. Got all the spotting/ hazing out and brought the lip back to a shine like when I first got the wheels.

Thanks for the tip. It saved me some money and aggravation.

Chuck

I'll post some pics when I get my digital camera hooked back up.

glad to hear that your problem has been fixed. im surprised that your mothers polish didn't work on your rims. Most of Meguiars products can be found at PBE stores such as pep boys and autozone but some are hard to come across by. I used that NXT all metal polish at the Meguiars detailing class at irvine. good class and they let you test out their products.

Yeah, the Mothers Metal Polish did absolutely nothing. Didn't get any of the stains/hazing off. The NEVR-DULL not only removed the stains but, obviously, shined the polished lip to a mirrorlike finish. I'll post pics later in the week.

Thanks again,
Chuck
