Second coat of wax
It should not be necessary. That being said, I always put a second coat of wax on in late Autumn. Living in the Northeast, it is possible that we will have a nice warm day in the Winter. However, it is highly unlikely that the car will get another coat until the Spring. Unfortunately, some waxes will not set up properly below a certain temperature, so the second coat is the best I can do.

I just go from one coat to the next without worrying about how much time has elapsed.
Between waxings. I usually go about eight weeks max. If conditions have been bad...like on a long trip with rain I'll do a full detail regardless of time.

for swirls and scrathes I've found that 3M Swirl and scratch remover for Dark paints does best, then Blackfire polish then wax.
You'l get 100% better results in getting out swirls and scrathes with Portal Cable buffer with foam pads.

Go to this site.....it's the best on the web and read about the Porter Cable buffer with foam pads....you can not damage your clearcoat or paint and the results are 100X better than hand in 1/3 the time.
I've used a professional rotary buffer for 22 years (like in body shops) if you use it wrong you are screwed......but orbitals have always been nice but never really produced much results.....until the Porter Cable came out.
After using the Porter Cable with Blackfire.....the local police will probably stop you for blinding traffic on a sunny day!
