WD40 is another option

I have used it often on the rocker panels for tar and other debris that gets stuck to the paint. It works well to soften up the hard deposits and makes them easy to clean off with quick detailer as the follow up.

tar remover doesnt work

Unfortunately tar remover doesnt help. Thanx for the tips , i will try bug remover .Some polishing , cleaning specialist companis like Ziebart , pro - car have that special cleaner to remove resine but they dont sell it.They supply only for their services to clean resine before polishing.I wish i could get that miracle product.
I will ask for the removel of the resin only.Usually they charge the complete service (inc polishing, isolation etc.) it sucks.

how long has it been on there? If tree sap isnt removed within 3 days it is going to be a pain to get off. If its been there for a few months, sanding is probably the only answer, i will look into this for u. Try some rubbing alcohol on it.

Sounds like you need a solvent product. Products like 3M Adhesive Remover, Goo Gone, etc sound like they will work.

Probably the easiest thing to do is go to your hardware store at get some isopropyl or denatured alcohol. Denatured has a lot of other uses as well.

chemicals is the only way to remove it safely. The products we mentioned will not strip or damage your paint.

Great suggestion. I just tried this out and it works. In my case I used alcohol stove fuel (methyl hydrate) on my wife's 99 Golf, which has dark green metallic paint that shows every imperfection. The resin got there from parking under a pine tree last February. The car is hand-washed every week, and I got most of the sap off the following weekend with Simoniz Bug and Tar Remover and a lot of hard rubbing. Three spots were left on the front bumper, each between the size of a quarter and a dime. The bug and tar remover would not touch these, washing did nothing to them, and they have of course become harder as the summer wore on. The methyl hydrate took all three spots off with just a few gentle strokes.

Forgot...you will need to re-wax the treated area, because alcohol will strip off the wax as easily as the resin.
