foam pads and splatter

Im using a makita high speed buffer. When i spray the foam pad with water, my menzerna intense polish splatters excessively. And when i dont spray the foam pad prior to using it, the pad is not as flexible. Any ideas?

You are using too much product. How much do you use per panel?

Im using the orange and white ccs pads. Im having issues with the orange causing excessive splatter in combination with the menzerna intense polish. This only happens when i mist the pad before usage. And if i dont mist the pad, its harder to control the machine.

Can you describe your process a little more? How much product are you applying? How are you spreading it? How often are you cleaning the pad? Sorry for so many questions but that will help me formulate a more specific response.

im using 2 dime size drops on a 7.5 in pad. For a 2x2 panel size. I first spread it on the panel before turning the machine on.

Some times I'll smear the product on a very low setting before turning up the speed to my normal operating speed. This helps spread the product more evenly before you really get to polishing the surface. Another big factor in my results is changing the pads out frequently and/or cleaning them. A lot of detailers seem to be shifting towards having multiple pads for each step, especially while using cutting pads/polishes. A fresh cutting pad seems to work a lot better than one with a lot of polish in it. This was discussed in more detail at this link at Detail Univeristy. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I would use less product and dab the area you're working on to spread the wax/polish/etc.. Splatter is also cause by the angle at which you're holding the buffer.

Let me know if you have any further questions
