HELP-Dealer Washed my E63-AARRRGGG!

I brought my Black beauty in for something simple. And, yes, after telling the dealer not to wash my E63, and they said they wouldn't--they did. It happened. A fate worse than death. It was dirty when I brought it in and I was going to hand wash it the right way after getting it back. Now, the car has surface scratches on the clear coat throuout (nothing appears too deep). But annoying to say the least. Dealer will pay for detail, but tryiing to pick the right shop. HELP!

NOT SURE WHICH DEATAILER TO GO WITH--What is the best way to have these surface scratches removed (not filled in) so that she looks showroom again? Visited 3 detailers--heres what they said:

DET A said a polishing would remove most of them, but he couldn't guarantee all would be removed. DET B said he could get all of them out with a 3 step process: 1-a very light compound/polish 2-then another polish 3-polish/sealer. DET C said he wouldn't cut the clear coat hard and therefore would use a polish which is a light compund because once you cut the clear coat the car will look amazing now, but down the road it will be more likely to scratch and will loose its luster--is this true? CAN SOMEONE ADVISE ME WHICH OPTION WILL GET THESE SCRATCHES OUT WITHOUT HARMING MY BEAUTY AND STILL OFFER THE BEST SHINE? Thoughts, comments, suggestions, welcome. Many Thanks

Get an estimate for "Showroom" finish from best body shop in town.
It may require more than a detailer. I am certain your paint is nano ceramic and is extremely hard.
I feel your anger.

I feel your pain. I triple call my dealer everytime NOT TO WASH my car or attempt to clean any finger marks etc. on my car when I bring it in for service or for any reason. I have remind them every time and several times. I think next time I will also place a "Do not Wash" card on the steering wheel.

I just brought my '07 SL550 into Manhattan Mercedes for the 3,000 mile service (?) and, since it's obvious that I've been detailing the car per Greg's (www.detailedimage.com) suggestions, they suggested that they post a "DO NOT WASH" sign on the dash. Finally - service personnel that respect a well cared for car!

go to Detailing Dynamics. If they can't fix it then I wouldn't know how to help you.

Instructions on tape

I know this is too late to help, but years ago I started using blue painter's masking tape, writing reminders on it (Hand Tighten Only- No Air Tools, Do Not Wash, etc), and putting them on the windshield, driver's window, steering wheel, and on each wheel as needed. Compulsive yes, but I learned the hard way.
