Griot's Garage Products
Just found this section as a new member and have been fascinated by the many products out there. I have generally been usinf Meguiar's products and pretty happy with them. However, I have recently found the Griot's website and products and was wondering what the general opinion is on them.
They are more expensive than Meguiar' and I was wondering if they were worth the extra cost. Any comments would be appreciated.

I didn't like Griot's Garage products as well as the products carried by the vendors on this forum.
I feel any extra cost was worth the price for the items purchased here, I can't say the same about the Griot's products I have used.

Just found this thread...thought I'd toss my experience in there for good measure.
The Griot's products are the best (most consistent) I've found, and I like trying them all. Meguires makes some great mass market products but the quality is a step below Griot's IMO.
I've detailed everything from Evo VIIIs to BMWs to Toyotas in my garage and the Griots items are consistently good. It's easy to order too and more importantly they have outstanding customer service. I had a $35 wash bucket break on me, and they sent me a replacement no questions asked. I'm a customer for good.

I've always used their products in one form or another. I had a heck of a time with their Best of Show wax, until I read the instructions. If you have the time and patience, the results are phenomenal. I'd put their Speed Shine up against any of the spray detailers on the market. The cool thing is that with very few exceptions, most everything on the market works and works well. It's good to have so many choices.
My favorite new toy is the 3" random orbital buffer. It gets into places that I had to do by hand before.

The mistake I made with the Best of Show was putting it on too heavy. In the future I will use really thin coats. i found out that if it will not buff off easily, there is too much product. Spraying a little water on it will help remove the excess and get to the shine.

I have been using Griot's products for years and believe I am their customer # 200. The products are generally good, their customer service is good too. You do save money by buying gallon size of most products (soap, wheel cleaner, speed shine, etc.) instead of small bottles at the automotive store.
I like their paint sealant which does last up to 6 months.
