'04 Silverado Z71 - sold all my Benzes and need another!
I have seen a thread about this before and never really saw any real solution. Depending on how bad your lights are, my detailer used rubbing compound and wax on mine and although they do look a little better, they're still not clear. I am thinking about replacing them but I just can't remember who sells just the lenses only. Does anyone know where I can just get the lenses for my xenons and parking lights? Thanks...

You may already know this but just in case - the owner's manuals say that if your lenses are not glass, don't use ammonia-based products on them or the lenses can become clouded. I think you're just supposed to use "mild" soap and water. If the lenses are already clouded though and you've tried cleaining the inside and outside properly, replacement may be the only option.

There are Several Aircraft Supply Companies that sell Great Products that will remove Scratches and Remove The Cloudy Look of the Plastic Headlite covers. Its a Kit With Ultra Fine Sandpaper and a Polish with a Buffer pad. I Have Used it on Aircraft so I Know it WILL Work on the Headlites!
One Source is Aircraft Spruce in Corona Ca.
Or try your Local Airport Supply Co.

Save your money on trying to fix the lamp covers. My are etched and I tried the aircraft buffing compound and it did nothing. I think I saw someone say they were about $90, but I can't remember where I saw them for sale.

You can buy them from bekkers.com but it's not listed on their website, you have to call. If I recall they are about $90 each. installation is covered on this post :

I just called Bekkers and James there told me that he could not find the listing in his computer but he knows he has them. He is going to check his warehouse on Monday and get back to me. I will let you guys know if and when he does...

go to www.bmwtips.com and click on the section on how to polish plastic lenses. It's amazing how detailed this is. I wish they had something like this for MB.

I first tried clearcoat polish, and it helped a little but not enough.
Then I tried a more coarse rubbing compound, and it helped a little more - then I followed it up with the finer clearcoat polish again. I think it boils down to how much nerve do you have in taking a more coarse compund to the plastic for fear it might do irreversible damage. One things for sure - your arm will be tired when you're done if you do it by hand.

Just as a follow up, I just got off the phone with Bekkers and they said that the price of the new xenon lenses only was $175 each side which would be $350 for the set, retail. That sounds a little high to me! Does anyone else have a source for these lenses as I had heard that they were around $90 each but I don't remember where? Thanks for any info...

Here is the "real solution"

I fixed mine with a product called Micro-mesh abrasive. Please see the details on this post from Mercedesshop.com.
Only $20 for the new headlamp polishing kit.

A few companies make headlight polishing kits. If you mean foggy as in it looks like water vapor is condensing on the back side of your lens, no polish will fix that.

I just purchase The Micro-mesh headlight cleaning kit for $20.95 including shipping. I will post the results when I receive and try the product out...

Hey guys,

I was wondering which kit to get from micro abrasive, atomic said he got the aquarium kit and someone else got the acrylic headlight kit, which one is more effective?
