Spots on my mirror

My new SL500 has developed small spots on the drivers and passengers side mirrors that wont come off with the usual glass cleaners and elbow grease. I dont know exactly how they got there...must have been something off the road that dried on there after a rain.

Any ideas how to get these annoying little spots off?

Thanks

water spots come off with white vinegar. If you are careful, Lime Away shower cleaner or CLR cleaner.

Thanks.

What about the Zaino glass polish? Would that work on mirrors?

~One man’s opinion~

Distilled White Vinigar should remove water spots, I’ve also used Autoglym Glass Polish with success.

Hope this helps

Drying your car after a wash would help avoid this problem in future.

Is that what you guys call rain up north, a wash?

OK, OK, yes it is raining hard enough to wash the dirt off. My car's in the garage though, but my wife's is outside The rain here doesn't leave spots on glass or paint; virtually the only way to get them here - and it's easy - is to leave rinse water to dry on the car. Must be different where you are, too bad.

Could it be...Acid Rain?

Yes, it could be. There's nothing like an occasional weak acid rinse to dissolve those unsightly calcium deposits. Maybe we should all be lobbying against reduction of the sulfate limits in fuels
