New W205 coming-confused re. paint sealants
Hi, guys.
I've been looking all over the boards and have been finding a lot of conflicting info / opinions about how to take care of my new car's paint when it arrives in January. I have not given the whole thing a lot of thought with previous cars, but with an Obsidian Black car on the way, I really want to take care of it well / correctly.
If I understand correctly, the dealer's sealant package is a rip-off. Is this correct?
If so, what should I do?
One complication is that I live in Nagoya, Japan, so brand names and company names are likely to be different. We have a lot of places that do the polymer coatings here, called KeePre or various other names. I have used these with good results on my W204 and Jeep, but not when they were brand new.

Don't let the dealer prepare your car, drive it off the lot with stickers stil on and take it straight to a professional detailing shop and have them do a "new car prep" with opti coat on paint. I see that you are not from the states but you can email Phil from detailers domain for advice and product info.
