Nanowax!!!!!!!!!!!

I was in Advance Auto Parts today to pick up Meguiars newest polymer wax-NXT Tech wax-and I came across this new product by Eagle One called Nanowax. It is the first polish and wax utilizing advanced nanotechnology to fill fine scratches and conceal swirl marks. It is a carnauba product and must be on test market since it had a flag on the box stating that it was free with mail in rebate. The coupon inside the box entitles you to a full refund if you write back with comments about the product. It also comes with an applicator and microfiber hand towel.

I thought to myself, nanopaint calls for nanowax, so I paid $9.98 for the product and used it on two areas where the clear coat has a patch of fine scratches. I had tried Meguiar's yellow wax and NuFinish on these areas before with less than desired results. The nanowax really worked. I can still see the scratched areas from a certain angle, but it's 80% better and no longer bothers the sh it out of me. If only they offered nanotechnology in a polymer polish/sealant.

I would check this stuff out. Nanowax

Quote: nanotechnology

~One mans opinion / observation~

Sounds a lot like putting Teflon in a wax.

I understood nanotechnology to be any technology related to features of nanometer scale: thin films, fine particles, chemical synthesis, advanced microlithography, and so forth. A technology based on the ability to build structures to complex, atomic specifications by means of mechanosynthesis; this can be termed molecular nanotechnology.

~Hope this helps~

I tried both Nanowax and NXT this weekend on my E320 and posted a few pics here:

Bottom line: Both IMO were excellent.

very nice. I got a bunch of scratches on the clear coat on my trunk (from where I don't know, but they just keep coming )

I will pick it up and try it. The paint doesn't have to be nano paint, does it?

this is on my C220 BTW.

Thanks!

hey gdawg -

I think you'll like either of the products. If I had a bunch of scratches I'd probably hit the area with Scratch X first...

Good Luck!

I've tried scratch x numerous times, it dissapears after applying and buffing. Then a few days later, when it wears off, the scratches reappear. Should i scratch x it first then apply NXT or Nano to it?

NXT or Nanowax after Scratch-x should be just the ticket.

I had a few cone burns from autocrossing and the Scratch-x + NXT worked well for me.

Forgot to mention - if you don't have some microfiber towels - I'd recommend that you get some.

I don't think I'll ever go back to cotton.

They dry better and removing wax is a breeze and supposedly they are less likely to cause swirls.

Budget ones can be found @ Costco in the automotive area ~ 9 bucks for a dozen.

www.pakshak.com is where some of my hard-core detail freaks go...

I have used Zaino for several years and I went in Pep Boys and saw the Eagle 1 Nanowax , bought it and I now like the results better than the Zaino, very wet looking, very slick

Happy polishing. I'm sure Autozone has mf towels too. IIRC the nanowax might even come with a mf towel inside. It definitely had a foam sponge applicator.

just found this online:

In pack bonus:
Every bottle of NanoWax includes a free non-abrasive microfiber polishing cloth and foam applicator. Ultra-fine micro fibers actually lift and remove excess wax resulting in a streak-free, glossy shine.

BTW, are microfiber towels washable and reuseable?

Yep - washable and reusable. Rip the tags off before use to prevent any possibility of them leaving marks.

Wash/dry them separately with liquid detergent. The one thing to avoid 100% is fabric softener when drying them.

Errr....just ran out of liquid detergent, got a big box of Tide now I think that should be safe, yes?

I got pics of my car on Nano :p as well as the other two cars washed today...spent many hours, hehe. Such a nice day, figured why not.

But I couldn't figure out for the life of me how to operate the pump to get the wax out of the container...I had to take off the pump assembly and just pour it out little by little.

I'll post pics in a new thread as soon as i get them off my camera.
