Glass Cleaner

I have an 03 SLK230, what is the best glass cleaner to use. Reason I ask is the wipers stutter & also leave rubber marks on the glass at the end of their sweep. I tried glass cleaner & I can see a streak where the rubber stops on the glass while the glass is wet with the cleaner but I can not remove it. Any ideas???

I used to use RainX but now I just wax (of all things!) the windows when I do the rest of the car. It's just enough to keep the wiper moving smoothly and although it doesn't last long given the frequency we use our wipers here, it beats the sticking you describe. It may also be that in your climate the UV rays cause the blades to deteriorate faster.

I'm interested to know if you or anyone else has found a really effective way to clean the inside of the windows. Everything I've tried claims to be streak-free but never is. If you believe Martha Stewart, you should use just vinegar and water and a newspaper. But then if you believe that, I've got some Imclone shares you might be interested in. Any ideas?

get some 3m aerosol glass cleaner, spray it on the whole window and rub it with steel wool. After you rub it with the steel wool take a rag and wipe off the glass cleaner, then take a dry rag and go over the window again to get rid of the streaks.

Do NOT use just any steel wool like SOS or other kitchen cleaners! Use 0000 or finer commercial grade steel but not very often.

There is NOTHING wrong with steel wool. It is the best way to clean crap off of your windows. Sorry I should have specified comercial only, and you can use it as many times as u'd like, it wont hurt anything

the right stel wool is an excellent glass cleaner but as they say "your mileage may vary". As careful as I am with my cars, I've scratched more than one window with 0000 wool.

Griots Garage and others make a glass polish, for removing hard water spots, wiper streaks, etc.

Works great. First, clean the window with alcohol (to remove all bug guts, road slime, etc.), then polish with glass polish.

Windows will be perfect.

I have used Zaino Glass polish (exterior) and then follow up on both sides with "Invisible Glass". No wiper streaking or scrubbing. I do the entire deal about 1x a month
