Kaboom goes the break dust

I am sure this has been mentioned before, but here it goes. I have been using Kaboom bathroom cleaner to clean my wheels. Lets just say it kicks ars. If you (heaven forbid) take your car through the car wash, spray some on just before you go in, and clean as a whistle. You can get the stuff at Walmart, but Cotsco has the mondo size for cheap. Check it out, if it does not work for you then, you can always clean your crapper!

Ummmm... I wouldn't be using that on your wheels. It will eventually pit them and strip the clear coat.

"Not for use on marble, natural marble or stone, limestone, enamel that is coloured, over 10 years old, warn, gold plated fittings, silver, or old cracked surfaces or cast iron baths, frosted glass, aluminum of galvanized metal, terracotta tiles, fabric or carpets. Do not leave on metal as it may discolour."

best thing you can do to tkeep wheels clean is to use a low dusting brake pad. Just got my Axxiss Deluxe Plus pads, not just need to put them on.

Yah eventually you wont have anything to clean off your wheels. Use things designed for cleaning wheels. If you want a cheap consumer wheel cleaner that works really well try Eagle One A2Z.

Well I have been using every week for a year now, with no negative results. I don't leave on more than 5 minutes and wash with soap and water after. I have more corrosion from the road de-icer than the Kaboom. I have low dust pads, but they still creat a lot of dust.

Like Awiner said, I would highly recommend AGAINST doing such a thing to your wheels. Bad advice.

~One man’s opinion / observations ~

MBWorld Discussion Forums...just checking, the MB stands for Mercedes Benz right, and you'd consider cleaning wheels with a non-auto product named Kaboom formulated as a bathroom cleaner?????

And I thought that using dishwasing liquid (Dawn) to clean automobile paint was unwise...

~Hope this helps~

I use WD40 to clean my alloy wheels. I have been using it on my motorcycle rims for years. Nothing like cleaning white rims, and wd40 makes it so easy. Just my .02

WD is Kerosine and light oil. Really won't hurt paint/clearcoat.

I actually use WD40 to remove tar/grease.
