Best Carwax

I've read from a couple of posts that Zaino is a good carwax to use. Where can you buy this stuff?

Does anybody else have any other suggestions as far as a good carwax? I'm looking for an easy on easy off type.

Thanks in advance.

Did you try Google?

www.zainobros.com

You can't buy it in stores, they only sell direct mail order.

I have tried Meguiar's Gold Class carnauba wax, Meguiar's NXT Tech Wax, and Zaino ZFX+Z2.

Carnauba wax looks great, but is tough to put on and produces chalky residue when you buff. Durability is limited.

NXT is a synthetic, much easier to put on, no buffing residue, but durability is still limited. I also didn't like the optics. In fairness, I think when I tried it it might not have bonded properly to the paint due to left-over residue from using Mr. Clean Autodry (I'm no longer using Autodry).

ZFX+Z2 was easy to put on, looks amazing, and if durability is anywhere near the 6-9 months claimed, it will turn out to be the best option for my car.

So right now I would recommend Zaino. My metallic Diamond Black paint looks absolutely *******g hot with 3 coats of Zaino. Sometimes I just stare.

So yesterday, I Dawn'ed, Clayed, and two-coat Zaino (with ZFX formula additive) Mrs. EDJ's new BMW.

Since the E500 is king of the garage, the bmw stays in the driveway. Overnight, the coastal fog left moisture on the car. Here's how tight Zaino beads up, and how good a coverage you get from just a dime sized dollop of Zaino on an applicator (approx 5-6 dollops to do the entire car).

BTW--That's a dime I used for perspective, but it kept sliding off the zaino'd roof. Then when I finally got it to stay in a spot, a drop of water from my thumb stayed on top of the dime so it might be hard to tell it's a dime.

It is, I just added that last pic to the post so you could see it. I'd be happy to put up more...

Thanks for the interest Al!

BTW-I'm not concerned about my plates being visible--if someone were to "run" them, they'd come back to my employer, not to my address

About a week and a half ago I 3-coat Zaino'ed my diamond black C230 sedan for the first time.

Last weekend, I parked under a tree at my friend's house, and got about 4-5 major bird poop splats on my car.

After driving home, I spritzed on some Z-6, wiped with a towel, and the sh*t came off like melted butter. No residue at all. AWESOME!

nice vehicle Edj!! Why did you choose to go with the E39 over the E60? I had an 04 525i and found it to be more powerful than I expected! Good choice. Must ride real nice with those tires

Thanks Al. No reason, just that was the sled the Mrs wanted. This week.

Thanks for the kudos, but I learned all my Zaino lessons from you buddy, so the credit is yours

I personally like these two waxes as well:

Pinnacle Souveran (Paste)
&
P21S

Souveran is somewhat expensive, but the results are simply amazing.
