I live in the Los Angeles area, and I'm finding it very concerning that I cannot find a reliable place that does an outstanding job of hand washing and detailing my car. It's been this way for several years, and it's a hit-and-miss procedure meaning once you find someone, they're suitable for the first 3-4 times you go in, but after that, they take you for granted and start doing a **** poor job. So, with that in mind, if anyone reading this lives in the LA area or knows someone who lives out here and has a great place, they can take their car and get a consistent outcome, please reply.
Hi there! For a top-notch DIY wash and detail, I recommend starting with the two-bucket wash method to prevent scratches, followed by using a clay bar to remove any lingering contaminants, and finishing with a wax or sealant for lasting protection. You might also want to connect with local car clubs, members often know reliable spots and trusted detailers who specialize in high-end vehicles.

Understand your frustration. It's a common issue in LA. Check out Eco Mobile Detailing, Pristine Detail LA, or Westside Hand Wash. They have solid reputations for consistent quality. Mobile detailers, especially owner-operated ones, often provide better and more reliable service since their business depends on repeat customers and word of mouth. Worth giving one of them a shot.
I'm currently using Eco Mobile Detailing. However, as I mentioned, and I do tip them very well, they have become somewhat lazy, because I visit there all the time, and I believe that's why they sometimes cut corners. I point out to them some significant mistakes, and they take it personally instead of just being professional about it. I'll check out the other places you mentioned.
Thank you.

If you have a garage, it is easy to keep clean and sparkling. Get good detailing, apply a few ceramic coats, rinse and dry when gets dirty. Shines right up!

I don't know that this is geographic as I have the same problem in NNJ. Sure, night be worse in a big city. I have one here in my town, complete by hand. They charge $32 and yes, they get lazy, complacent, rush when the line gets long, and so on. While spending one of my weekends in Long Branch, NJ, a car dealer owner friend of mine recommended one, right nearby, completely by hand. They have three options for an interior/exterior full service -- $35, $42, and $50 -- so for my first visit I went with the $50 "Elite" option. I have to say this was the greatest car wash I have gotten since I got my driver's license. The car almost looked like it was detailed!
For anyone who is near the NJ shore -- check this place out:
Well, I don't have a garage and I live over 3k miles west of NJ.
Well, the only response to that, in the immortal words of “Bluto” Blutarsky, is…ROAD TRIP!
After a 6,000 mile round trip, your car will probably need another thorough detailing!

Yeah, it’s tough finding consistent detailing in LA. A few places that have a solid reputation are LA Auto Detailing, Beverly Hills Car Club, and Eco Hand Wash. Smaller appointment-only detailers also tend to deliver more consistent results.
Boyidi,
Yep, I already use Eco Hand Wash. It's just that over a period of time, they have become more "relaxed" in their attention to detail unless you go around the car with them and point out what you want done.
