I am about to change the oil for the first time on my 2006 e320 CDI. I have the oil and filter and have done the oil changes on my 2003 Jetta TDI since it was new. I suck the oil out the top.
The only thing I lack right now is information about resetting the computer to show the engine oil has been changed. Could anyone point me in the right direction? thanks.

I always changed the oil on my 2003 Jetta TDI by sucking it out. I always put in at least 4 quarts and sometimes the 4 1/4 quarts that its supposed to hold.
On my first change on the CDI I used 7 quarts on the driveway which is slightly downhill to the back. I drove it and parked it on the level road and 30 minutes later the computer told me it was 1 quart low. I put in the full 8 quarts.
I sucked as much as I could out and then waited about 5 minutes and sucked out a little more. I did this 3 or 4 times until I would hear the sucking sound of air only coming through the tube after priming the pump.

What's your point???? The new oil I use does just fine. I'm not sure what their refining and blending processes are and don't really care as long as the oil I buy meets the specification I need and is what it is advertised to be.
