Anyone done a particulate filter retrofit ?
I'm getting tired of occasionally seeing a small cloud of black smoke emitting from the exhaust of my C270 CDI.
I have chipped my 320 CDI, and with full throttle on long runs, it smokes like a coal train. 425 lb/ft torque.
When its smoking I know I'm making mad diesel power!
I can see you blasting past Californian tree-hugging type joggers and cyclists in your Carlsson and literally "smoking" them to death.
Jolly good show my man!
I thought enthusiasts want to remove those useless filters and cats, not installing them in emission legal cars. A typical case of looking for trouble if you ask me.
I had a 1999 VW Jetta TDi which I fueled with automatic transmission fluids, waste engine oils, peanut oils and all sorts of fossil fuels. Where I live there was only the "visual" emission test. If the friendly mechanical did not see tailpipe black smoke continuously for over 15 seconds it was a past! There is absolutely no need for a particulate filter.
