Partly Correct
It was indeed a Chrysler - Nissan diesel motor.
Chrysler had the exculsive rights in the U S to sell these.
This motor was known as a 6-33. Also available as a four-banger.
I knew a man who was in business in Torrance CA that made a good living
installing these fine motors in just about any vehicle you could think of!
I drove one of his "hot-rods," a tudor Valiant with a stick, and it would
really fly, especially when compared to my then new 4-speed 240 D.
Chysler also had another not so well know 2-stroke engine available, the 75 series, a direct
copy of the Jimmy (Detroit) 71 series. They even worded their brochure word for
word right out of the GM brochure when discribing their fine clone.
Boy, am I dating myself!
