Correct.

The OM606 is a great engine but the W140 body has high-tech (for the time) features that can be expensive to repair/replace.

Other than that, it's a very luxurious car with a great engine. The US got screwed with the 3.5L engine.

I remember the engine had little power, something like 160 horses which is totally inadequate for the tank like body. It also had the 4 speed auto box. The problem with the w140 up to 1992 was electronics. In an attempt to catch up with Lexus MB packed the cars with unnecessary and unreliable electronic items.

My 2006 CDi arrived yesterday. Here is my baby.
