About what? The ML320 CDI is the best value, 4wd, more power, about the same MPG, and it's not crippled by emissions crap plugging the exhaust stream.

is the CDi a V-6 diesel without Bluetec?
The horsepower ratings are all different. Same with torque. I suspect the emission equipment differs too (a common rail injection without the Bluetec 3 plus one filters). My friend just took delivery of a 2007 GL 320 CDi and I have asked him to let me have a look under the truck next week when he does an oil change.

where is the black smoke?
I am very very pleased with the 2006 CDi. Not encumbered with the high dollar filters that are no good to man or beast.
Just vroom and fuel economy. Pity there is no black smoke.
