Hello all, I've recently purchased a 2.5 TD (US). I was just wondering about increasing power. I've heard of changing the turbo but had some trouble finding information around the web. I know this particular engine model is strictly mechanical (no circuit board?) so I suppose any form of chip is not possible... Any help is much appreciated! Cheers - Aaron L.

He may tell you to buy another one if your car has no turbo but since you mentioned changing the turbo you are probably OK.

It's not strictly mechanical. There are three computer controlled parts: emissions, idle speed and turbo boost. If you disable the EGR or butterfly valve on the intake the computer will kill boost pressure and go into a low power limp mode.

There is alot of information and many people working hard to extract power from these old Diesels.

I am enjoying my CDi so much I have become an instant diesel convert. This is my second diesel, first good diesel. My first one was a 1999 VW Jetta TDi which ran on thin air but no power.
The CDi is perfection.
