Interesting BBC Article

There's an interesting article on bringing more diesel to the US on the BBC website;

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/7232357.stm

Note they state that "Mercedes is leading the way" with its Bluetec. Those funny Europeans still have such a bad attitude about us Americans!

"Clean diesel" is an absolute joke, Diesels have always been cleaner than g@s engines. People see soot coming out a Diesel's tailpipe and instantly think "dirty" as they are slowly poisoned by the CO and HC emissions even after the exhaust passes through the multiple catalytic converters needed to clean their "clean" g@s engine.

I think less about all the beautiful cleanhouse gases and a-go-go-warning than saving money. Thick black smoke looks very cute coming out of stake pipes in diesel truck racing and resembles giant squid ink shooting at its enemies.

The new 2500 Suburban with the 6 liter iron block and 6 speed is averaging 11 mpg while the diesel is doing at least 25 mpg. I must admit I use a lot of 4 wheel driving in the Canadian snow and ice and I like the instant-on throttle effect of the big small block.

A perfect match would be an AMG 6 speed manual box tied to a common rail V-8 (the 420 or 400?) and AWD in a C or E class body. 350 horses. 550 Pound Foot torque. Big meat rubber.

Die eco weanies!!!

According to an uninformed 'journalist'

"...They belch out tonnes of diesel." Would that not mean they have massive fuel leaks??
