W210 turbo Diesel HELP! plz
anyway, i replaced the mass airflow finally, and now my car seems to still be messed up, still VREy sluggish, wont go past 2thousand RPM, when in park and i give it some throttle, the sound is painful, u can tell something doesnt sound right. im not sure what to do. i cleared the codes for the MAF when installing the new one, no new codes have appeared, but for some reason the car is still acting the same.... does anyone have any ideas? the Fing stealership never has any clue on whats wrong all they sugjest is me paying $135 an hour for them to **** around with it.... which i refuse to do. anyone know whats goin on here or have had the same issue? thanks everyone i hope i can get this solved, my diesel was so quick before, now my w124 300e can take it going backwards....
Sounds like your fuel air supply is still messed up which ought to set a code, or that there is a major fuel/air leak which wont set a code.
Check directly beneath the MAF you installed, and make cerrtain the vacuum transducer's 3 vac lines (controls the turbo wastegate) are still attached.
Then using a bright light and mirror, look on top of the IP and beneath the Shut off valve for any wetness. Then look at fuel lines for any bubbles passing through the lines at idle and at 1200 rpm. If the IP is too dirty to tell wehre wetness is comming from spray it down with carb or brake cleaner and look agian.
If both of those issues check out your fuel filter may have collected some water (that is part of its job) which can cause the engine to run rough; problem is it usually is a cold idle issue that gets better as the engine gets warmed up.
a code came up shortly after i wrote my first post.
p0243
p0100
im gettin confused and i really dont wanna take it to the dealership and get bum raped. if u know any thing i can do , plz let me know, thanks again for all ur help
PO100 is your MAF; does much the same as described above when the code sets.
Did either code come back once earsed? Power back?
The transducer is dierctly below your MAF.....make certain you didnt knock a vacuum line loose when you did your MAF previously.
You can see an identical transducer over by the windsheild washer bottle if you need help confirming how the vacuum lines should be connected.
Best way not to get codes is to spend $50 on a simple OBDII code reader......
*edit* Did you by an OE MAF, or one of the "inserts"?
